Need a quick reality check... Based on other posts here, it appears that the City-X is already shipping to dealers. However, I've not seen anything regarding the 12S. And in fact, one dealer told me they couldn't even place orders for the 12S yet. Can anyone who's "in the know" confirm the status of the 12R/12S models? When can we expect them in dealerships?

Thanks!

Have no idea about the 12 but the local dealer already has the XB9 CITY.

I've talked to 3 dealers in this area today - and none of them have any info about the availability of the 12S/12R models. (I didn't ask about the City-X.) And maybe it's just my perception but the salespeople I talked to didn't seem especially interested in trying to secure a sale.
Although I indicated I was anxious to purchase and had money to put down as a deposit, none of the 3 made any attempt to get my name or contact info so that they could follow-up with me. Instead, all 3 told me to "call back in a couple of weeks".

I'm about to throw in the towel on getting an '05 Buell - and I'll lay the blame directly at the feet of my (remaining) local dealers. I understand the new models aren't available yet but for the love of Pete, Mr/Ms. Salesperson, don't make me beg to have you sale me a bike. At the very least, pretend you give a rat's a** and offer to take my contact info.

Apologies in advance - I didn't mean to turn this into another "ragging on the dealerships" thread.

I have a 12s coming in mid August.
Figures the Milwaukee dealers get bikes before I do. Happens every time

WYD -
Give Rodney Scott a call at Central Texas Harley Davidson 512 973 8521. He's down here in Austin and just got back from Laguna Seca (where he spoke to Mr. Buell himself).

He is very knowledgeable (sp?) about the Buells (he races them) and will be more than happy to do whatever he can to help you out.

Tell him Phil referred you to him.

shoot me a PM if I can be of any help. Your to close of a neighbor to not try and help ya out. I know they got a guy who delivers bikes.

Put a fork in me. I'm done. For now.

I love Buells and will once again have an XB - hopefully sooner than later. However, I've spoken with every Buell dealer in this area and not one could give me any information on when they expect to see any '05 12S or 12R models in their showroom. I even offered to put down a deposit so that I could be assured of getting one as soon as they hit. Not one dealer was interested in my offer. And what's more troubling, every dealer left it with "call us back in a week or two and maybe we'll have more info.". WTF??? Call them back? They should be jumping over themselves to call me back. I've offered to put down a deposit, I've obviously done my homework and with the exception of filling out the paperwork, I wouldn't need any other interaction with a salesperson.

I've pulled the trigger on an '04 600RR. This is my first metric and I'm having to adjust to the totally different characteristics of the i-4 engine compared to a v-twin. But so far, I'm loving it. If/when the '05 XB models are available in this area and a dealer acts like they give a rat's , (and if I've not totally bonded to the RR) I may consider taking the $$$ hit and trading in the RR on an XB. But as it stands, dealer apathy not only has cost Buell a sale, it may have turned a former Buell owner into a metric convert.

FWIW, I plan to continue to participate on the XBoard since I'm hoping that I'll once again be riding an XB before the end of the year.
