Now maybe its the morning coffee,or I am just a weirdo,or both but.....

let me say this I am not sure why the SXcity thingy, it might grow on me I don't know but...

we have motard racing right...done in parking lots sometimes. we have battle trax right...done in parking lots all the time.

well since they gave us this model why not sorta merg the 2 and make a slightly bigger battle trax i.e. a motoard track , add some dirt on it and start a racing series.

we have the frame pucks now for the get offs, so there ya go on that. who doesn't love motard racing, and we know we like battle trax. the dirt with some moguls would make it that much more interesting.

just thinking here but dang it could be fun.

somebody relay this idea to reg and see what happens.

or not and maybe dream that the sx is the first step back to possibly have an M2 type of bike again.

just thinkin

I don't know what to make of it either, seems the biggest turn off for some people is the transparent panels. Wouldn't take much to paint or switch plastic.

I think it would have been cool if new buyers could select the available color of their choice. I know some people would like a yellow XB12 w/out having to lay out an additional $700 (approx).

I think there are to many other bikes out there, suited for motard racing...adding some hand guards and brush deflectors does not make a better MotoX racer.

the XB is playing dress up, not hop up.
My guess is anyone that buys the new XB/SX will treat it as a show bike, and it will never even see rain.

Like erik buell says..."if you want a race replica, go buy one"

I say " if you want a motocross bike, or super motard bike, go buy a real one.

AND SOMEONE PLEASE ASK ERIK WHAT "

CITYCROSS IS ???

I think it is kinda cool adding another option to the lineup. But calling it a city bike and putting those lightguards on, I get the image in my mind of a bike I could park and ride throughout NYC, and know that it will get beat up.

I refuse to drive my 9R into NYC, but that is just me.

I think the 'CityCross' is a marketing sop to the Europeans ,I bet they will sell more of it over there once it is launched, hell i would buy one in Europe , it would work great in my hometown in the UK ..

...and for the record I like the Hero Blue, but i also like the idea of being able to choose your color from a dealer selection of plastics.

Exactly, Buelluk said it--- its called marketing, just a bit of creative marketing, directed mostly towards the Euro market. The rest of the Buell line remains true to the "purist" design sense of Erik B., so I am not going to let this one bike bother me in the least. Underneath the styling exercise remains a superb motorcycle design, none the worse for the styled bits... If you lke it, vote with your dollars, or euros, or pounds. If its not your cuppa, don't.

Here is my view on that.

The XB9SX is the only 9S variation available now. I have and love my Yellow XB9S, and would not trade it for a new XB12S. I like the higher rev limit and characteristics of the 984 engine with a race kit.

(knock on wood)

If my XB gets stolen or worse... and insurance replaces the bike... it is gonna cost me a fortune now.

I'd have to buy a XB9SX, take off all the body work and replace it with yellow $700.00, add the race kit again $650.00, Napoleon mirrors $70.00, Black chin fairing from a XB?R model, $50.00, and other little stuff.

Had they not dropped the XB9S, I'd just add a race kit and mirrors and be done. I am not thinking they will sell me a XB9 missing all plastic. At least they did not drop the 984 engine totally. If the XB9SX flops, will they move back to the 03 models variation, or drop the 984 totally? That is my fear... and was my fear before we saw the evolution to the SX version.

I may be missing something, but my only reach for this change, is the bike WAS NOT built for the US market, but actually for a Euro market, where it just might be a hit. But here, I can't see anything but sales on the XB9 series fall off. Not because of the XB12 series, but because of the dropped R & S model XB9s, and the strange looks of the XB9SX.

I guess on the up side, if I were ever to sell my XB9S, anyone wanting that model would not be able to buy a new one, or might not want to replace all the plastic, so my resale value may hold better now!! NO, IT IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE FOR SALE!!!

Bubba, how about CityX Battletrax with city-type obstacles? Open car doors, potholes, a stalled taxi, dead pigeons, pedestrians, etc. Spectators can throw empty soda cans at the participants on the track. Let's put those fancy new guards to the test!

For any one that has been to Detroit.

Battle Trax on I-94 or I-75's most torn up piece or road!

The biggest problem with CityX or SuperMotard on a Buell XB is no ground clearance.

Here in the USA the XB9SX is going to be a Bling-Bling bike and Stunt bike; over in Europe the first mod will be taking off the chin spoiler then getting an exhaust and making it a naked Streetfighter.

I looked at the XB9SX Gallery on the Buell website several times and I Get It. It is an imaginative, cool concept and a cool bike. It's like the sub-niche model of a niche bike Brand. And I swear those pics look like they were shot in Europe somewhere, but I can't place it.

Mike.
