Does anyone have the stock bar's dimensions? I'm looking to replace them with something a little less rise and rake. I like the looks of the motocross bars on Bads XB, but I'm trying to find one without a crossbar. Thanks! |

I may be the next XB owner with Moosebars. I found a set of Renthals for street bikes from their site, but can't find a retailer selling them. They are called the "Ultra Low", with dimensions close to what I'm thinking about: Width: 28.75 in (730mm) Heighth: 2.95 in (75mm) Pullback: 3.74 in (95mm) Base: 7.28 in (185mm) The moose bars are real close to these dimensions too, so it may be the easiest (and least expensive) route. Does anyone know a retailer selling the Renthal street bars? Plenty of mototcross bars but again no street bars...Oh yeah, any preferences on grips? Thanks again for your input! |

I tried getting them but couldn't even get the right retailer to order them for me even with Renthals help.So thats when I emailed Bubba Blackwell to find out what he uses.Trust me the Mooses are cool. |

If the base or the center (the straight middle section) is longer than roughly 6", it WILL NOT MOUNT due to interference from the preload bar/nut that's surrounding the preload bar. In other words, the center section has to be between the outer diameter of the preload bar. |

Funny you mentioned that. After I looked around the web for alternatives, I walked out to the garage to take a look at my bars and thought that might be an issue. I guess I have to give the Mooses a shot. Maybe I'll name my bike Buellwinkle! |

Another alternate, but they're $30 to $50 more... http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/Handlebars.cfm?type=street They supposedly have dealer support here in Tucson, but I think it's more for there brake parts than bars. I may have to take a peek. |

Couldn't find a local shop with Moose's in stock but ended up with O'Neals in the CR low bend. $20 bucks and they'll be on today. They'r a bit wider, but I got an idea. Pics to be posted... |

Tucson - Go here to see a post I made on the solid modeling of Renthal offerings vs stock bars http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/54079.html |

I remember that thread...which bars did you end up with? Did you find a Renthal distributor that had the street series bars in the US? I put the O'Neals on and it was a bit of a struggle due to the extra width and cable length. I pushed everything out as far as they would go with out cutting anything up. I ended up with about 3/4" sticking out at both ends. Only trouble is on the throttle side the end of the bar is raw steel. I quickly shot it with some black spray paint and voila...matching bar ens. In fact I had planned on hacking of the ends, but now I have enough bar to mount CRG bar end mirrors without having to pay for the adapters! I'll post the pics when I get my mirrors installed. As for the bars themselves, I do like the lower position and the rake is not as severe. No long trips on them yet to see if distance comfort has change, but overall an easy change for minimum $. |

Tucson, I found that the stockers weren't that bad after all so I haven't changed them yet. With the improved weather here in the Northeast, I've been riding it more and working on it less. |

Hi guy's, I too, just got done installing the o'neals. I also struggled a bit with the width but I managed to wiggle enough wire & cable so as to have minimum sticking out on the ends. Haven,t riden it yet but it looks awesome. |

Got some CRG's and mounted them up yesterday. I'm reeeeaaaaally liking this set up. It's a little more aggressive but comfortable at the same time. I can't say enough about the mirrors! The fit and finish are excellent and I can actually see with them! No vibration what so ever. Pics to follow. |

Q: how did you mount them? Did you have to use the adapters? Finally what about the stock rounded barends? Sorry if these questions seem dumb but I would like to get some but just need to know how to install them. Thanks. |
