Can anyone tell me why, down here in Australia, the XB9R is listed as being 25kg heavier (at 200kg), and has 10HP less (64kW = 86HP)? I was comparing the US model with the Aus model on the official buell website! Whats the go?!?!

maybe they added fuel, oil, a battery, and tires to the australian model prior to the official weigh-in. |

Try taking off the stock exhaust. That thing is so heavy! Will lighten your load a bit. It might have something to do with emissions? DO you Aussies have any funky emission requirements? |

"DO you Aussies have any funky emission requirements?" yeah, they are really cracking down on noise at the moment... thats probably it. Has to be less than 94dB at about 3000rpm |

If you go on a diet it wont matter how much your bike is.... LOL I find eating my wife's cooking make the bike ride quicker the next day. |

They list it as a wet weight. As for the power you need to recalculate as it is 93Hp. And if you head down to the dealer you will notice the Buells are much louder than 94dB (96.9 dB according to the one in my garage). |

96.9dB with the quiet, lame, heavy stock exhaust?? That is just sad. I remember how much I hated my stock exhaust when I test drove the XB12S this last weekend. The 1st thing I did waas the race kit and the "custom" seat. |

thanx starter, well my mind is made up regardless... I'd get one if it had 30HP and and sounded like a 2stroke lawnmower! ...oh, and steviejay, I'm just a little fella, weighing in at 66kg (about 145pounds?), so I'd better get eating huh?!?! I dont have any trouble with bigger bikes tho, just have to thro myself off the seat more =o) |

Slart, they're all the same, they don't weigh any more in Oz, unless the gravity is different here, and the power should be the same too. Buells run really well with big fat riders (makes em stick harder) but they go faster with lighter riders, you've just gotta hold on to the bike with your knees more... |

Slowby, long shot here, are you saying the ecm maps are different for export models? |

The extra weight will be the 15 tinnies of Fosters under the seat! |

Funny thing about kiwis and the folks up in Oz is how they drink. They don't buy six packs, they buy crates... and a minimum of 2... One to sit on while they drink out of the other. DB is better than fosters and the All Blacks are the best rugby team on the planet. Amazing how you kids can drink. |

Ahhhh actually, you wouldnt catch an aussie drinking Fosters. Its our National Joke we sell it overseas but wouldnt touch it ourselves. Db is a kiwi (new zealand) beer. VB is close to being the national brand in aust. Mmmmmmm Beer. Anyone for a Duff? |

Life is too short to drink cheap beer! VB is definitely cheap! Try Crown Larger, or Hahn Premium... or if you dont wanna stretch the budget that much try Tooheys Extra Dry (or tooheys new). Anything but VB or Fosters! PS. we have real full strength beer down here ;o) ...oh and thanx for the info! |

Slarti, No dispute over Crown or Hahn, they are both good..except I only have a VB stubby holder at the moment.. ..thats what I need to mount on the XB9S... a spun alloy anodized VB stubby holder ...Trojan Horse or anyone ?? |
