So it's my first ride in 9 months, after finally recovering from my shattered left humerus (two surgeries), and my '03 XB9R made it 3.0 miles before the speedometer quit.

Yeah, I pulled the speedometer sensor...see if my dealer has one in stock. But what a disappointment - first ride in 9 months and something has to break.

Both times my speedo sensor quit was right after I hit the rev limiter. Seems to be an over voltage issue. There is supposedly a new part to fix it.

ive hit my rev limiter at least 10 times
speedo still works

The updated part (like $70) fixes it.. see the knowledge vault for all the grusome details.
