have to tell someone.my friends think ive lost my mind. after riding harleys since 1977 i bought an 09 uly and for 2 weeks have been getting used to the riding position, using front brakes more, ect. I cannot find anything other than how i look riding this, that i dont like. Its like the 'hummer' of harleys and damn, its fast. i just rode 1000 miles this weekend and now i think.......im in love. there, i got that off my chest. |

Is there some rule about front brakes on Harleys that I'm, not aware of? Other than the pads on mine suck, they seem to work just fine and the back allows me to dangerously lock it up without a lot of thought. |

no rule, just sometimes never had them. so, a controlled skid was my technique. also, never used a front brake in a curve until now. its just a different way of braking now.once rode across long lousiana bridge [atchafalaya?] with no Rear brakes for about 20 miles. that was fun. |

Anaconda said...the wife was looking at me like a porkchop! I had the same experience in Libby MT several years ago. Met two young women at my dinner restaurant that were extremely friendly. Wanted to know where I came from, where I was going. Asking if anyone was expecting me at my destination. What really put a chill up my spine was when the older one suggested that the three of us go to their place and party into the night. Ate my dessert and got outta there |
