Hey Guys, For January, The tech article on www.roadracinghelp.com will be on the XB9R and the setup. Question: Would you all be interested in a "Buell, test and tune up day" at the LSTD/TWS event Feb. 16th? The value this would bring is discounts on pre-ordered shocks as well as fork services at the track. I would be able to install the shock at the track @ N/C and provide support through the day. Additionally, fork/spring installation can be done at the track. (I bring stands). Bring your SAE tools as I am limited on that. I would give the Buell riders a special 30 minute class on setup and discuss the options on the Buell. I would like to get at least 5 of you guys for this. Let me know. I will be trying to check this board several times a day in the future. Thanks, Marcus

Marcus - If the weather looks promising I am planning on signing up for this. I ride a black XB9S (bigger guy, about 6', 230 pounds).I know the quality of your work is top notch. Please email me at dfelipe_@hotmail.com with what you got going on with Shocks. Also, I was telling a friend of mine about those tires you had at the ridesmart Track Day in Cresson on dec 8th, do you have any deals on new tires for a gxr 1k? Oh yeah, if you want I can mention this to Rodney (races a black xb12r) to see if he is interested. --Phil |

Thanks Phil, Yeah, I spent some time with Max talking about the buells, to me the standard Penske double cliker (about 700.00) with either the sport revalve/respring should really make these bikes work better. I did work on Mark Godfrey's bike and found that the valving was not to bad stock. I just tried about three different fork Oil/fork level combos. The front end felt good, but again, that is relative to a stock rear suspension. I think if we could get some decent ride height on the rear, the front will need a little more performance. The Traxxion Kit I put in costs about 425.00 and I just revalve the stock rebound piston. The key again is to have a nice day to do a full "in and out" all day setup. To be able to try stuff when someone who can tune really helped me as a rider and makes this sport a lot more fun. Look forward to working with you guys in 2004. Marcus |
