I have a 2005 XB12 here that came in with running issues. Noticed the TP reading jumps around while idling. After determining it is not a bad sensor--tried 2 more--or an ECU issue--tried known good one-- I checked the 5 volt signal from the ecu at pin #1 on grey connector and running it goes up to 6.3 volts. Can someone see if another bike is same. Wish I had another runner here, but NO!!

Will an '06 XB12X work? If so, by grey connector do you mean the connector you use to get codes?

I have a running 05 12R. What do you need to know ? Tell me what to put where (don't say it) and I'll get you readings tomorrow. I have a Buell Race ECM in it, the one that came with the pipe and K&N back then.

05 or 06 good. On ECM there are 2 connectors,on the grey connector the #1 wire--IIRC is red with tracer--- is the 5 volt feed to all the sensors,I need a volt measurement with key on/not running and one running. Thanks guys!

Just measured my '06 Uly (standard ECM) and with ignition & killswitch ON it measures 5.04v. With engine running it is steady on 5.11v.

Found the problem--he had tapped into 5 volt signal to feed his aftermarket speedo and it was back feeding voltage making 5 volt go to 6-7 volt. TP was not happy with that.
Now damn thing has no spark----- excpt coil test----

So, now my 5 volt signal is good but the darn thing has no spark! Not BAS sensor, and coils fire when you run the diagnostic test in ECM Spy.

Knew all the sensors were 0-5 volt, measured input to TP and it was at 6-7 volts which skewed all sensor readings. Looked for what was not stock--speedo--and looked at wiring to find he had wired into the 5 volt feed and it was backfeeding voltage.
On Cam sensor, it had no spark but would fire with coil test. Hooked test light to injector and when they were not firing only 2 things can be bad--trigger or ecm.
Have been learning a ton on this stuff from looking over the shoulder of my Aussie friend,Greg Watters, as he sets up our data loggers and turbo stuff.
