Hello all sorry I havent been online but we are EXTREMELY busy with the Firebolt Superbike which we think will be the FASTEST bike on the grid BAR NONE.Right now we are UPGRADING from Ohlins rear suspension to MUPO and We are also looking at being Pensky R&D race team. We will see if Penskys latest prototype can top the MUPO unit . A tall task indeed . In braking We have the BEST brembo units money(alot) can buy but its looking like the new 6 piston ISR calipers with ISR master Cylinder are in just better all around (ie power&feel)In racing the old guard is best if its for free, but in direct comparison the smaller race engineering companies have taken the lead .

ANYHOW THE PICS YOU SEE ARE OF THE STREETBIKE . I INSTALLED THE NEW RACE TAIL SECTION. BEST LOOKING AND BEST FUNCTIONAL AFTERMARKET BODY WORK IVE SEEN YET. THE HIGHER BACK SECTION OF SEAT ENSURES CONFIDENCE THAT YOU WONT SLIDE OFF THE BACK UNDER EXTREME ACCELERATION . THE SITCOME/BUELL CERAMIC BRAKES ARE UNDESCRIBABLE. THE STOPPING POWER IS ABOUT 50% GREATER THAN THE 10,000 BREMBO SET UP ON RACE BIKE WITH BETTER FEEL.(TECHNICALLY LEGAL BUT FEAR CERAMIC LOOKS LIKE CARBON FIBER SO RACE OFFICIALS WILL SHOOT US DOWN)

BTW HTTP://WWW.BELLISSIMOTO.COM HAS SITCOM CERAMIC BRAKES FOR BUELL BUT CHANGE THE JUNK/STOCK MASTER CYLINDER.JUST THAT CHANGE WILL IMPROVE YOUR BRAKING SUBSTANCIALLY
I HAVE ALSO INSTALLED THE CARBON FIBER SWINGARM BUT HAVNT TAKEN PICS YET
Streetbike Firebolt XB1420R

Looking good! Glad to see you have been busy. You had us worried for a bit, some of us were wondering if you had passed on.

Some of the non-stock gear will get you in trouble with most Club racing rules for Superbike - and certainly won't be allowed in AMA if they have any homologation requirements.

Penske? Using you as their R&D? If you have the years and years of racing experience that'd get Penske to fund your effort, there are sure to be a couple thousand other Club racers with decades of racing experience that are going to be very jealous!

Cool. Those Sicom brakes are crazy. To lust over. Cha ching. Wish they weren't asking 3/4 my bike's blue book to rock 'em.

The whole bike(s) are awesome. Very cool.

Thanks everyone,This project was a success too bad my racing skills are now shot due to deteriorating spine(see the chicken stripes lol). But I am proud to show/shock people that with a skilled rider the old XB Firebolt with AMPLE/EXTREME cooling, lubrication and keeping the RPM under 7K. You can utilize very aggressive race tuning and still have a reliable engine that EASILY OUT ACCELERATES EVEN THE NEW BMW S1000 OR KAWASAKI ZX10 BECAUSE OF HAVING MORE BOTTOM END HORSEPOWER ON SHORT STRAIT AWAYS. THE WORKED 1420CC FIREBOLT EVEN ATTAINS HIGHER TRAP SPEEDS ON THE SHORT(1/5 MILE) STRAITS ,BUT TO BE HONEST THE BMW S1000 HAVING 40 MORE HP WILL EVENTUALLY PASS YOU WHEN ON LONG STRAITS THAT ALLOW THE HIGH RPM ENGINE TO GET ITS LEGS UNDER IT SO TO SPEAK.

THIS IS ...NOT... THE SET UP YOU WANT FOR A DAY TO DAY RIDE . ANDY HAS SET UPS THAT MAY NOT TROUNCE A ZX10 ON BOTTOM END POWER BUT IT WILL RUN NOSE TO NOSE WITH ONE AT A MUCH CHEAPER COST. JUST REMEMBER A SLIPPER CLUTCH,FORCED AIR OIL COOLER AND HEAD TEMP GAUGES ARE..MUST HAVE.. ITEMS YOU WILL USE DAILY

Slaughter you are absolutly correct. The sole reason for us getting the R&D slot is because Pensky knows there are LEGIONS of Harley owners that would love to see there old tech engine that was NEVER meant/designed to race, beat the jap/euro high tech sportbikes that where designed for racing. We are competitive ONLY because of the displacement advantage, the new cooler that was developed and having a legendary harley tuner have his shop nearly. take away one thing the job would be impossable . Some will say the displacement advantage isnt fair , but running 1940s tech agaist the new engines designed for racing the displacement is a must

a sneek peek of the racer, old tech, big cubes and sounds like a NASCAR V-8. We will FILL the stands with every redneck in a wife beater shirt. forks are Ohlins superbike units FGR000. Mupo or Pensky rear shock. Brakes will be ISR master cylinder to ISR 6 piston monoblock caliper or brembos best(as seen in pick) 4 piston monoblock calipers.(having pad supply problem with Both brands)
The rotors will be BRAKE TECH units .
NEMISIS traction control is on its way and we are using LECHTRON carbs because there are no throttle bodies made that are big enough lol.Besides todays high tech carbs work as well if not better than injection because of sizing problems over 600cc.Example:zx10 uses zx14 throttle bodies .

BTW MUPO,ELKA,Bitubo all make better units than Ohlins(just look at materials and design) and the ELKA is cheaper and readily available . The USA comes in a distant 2nd to Europe in importance to companies because of smaller market(americans afraid to ride ) and Europeans have more disposable income to spend ( USA 27th in standard of living last time I read in WSJ and they give 10,000 dollars if you find them wrong)

ANYWAY Simons Performance did all the fabrication, Motorwork ect I am just the owner/designer Ask Andy about particulars .
After the first race i will show the finished bike and Horsepower/torque numbers . Lets just say that I would love to go WSB racing!!!

Jake,

Great to hear from you again. We were all concerned on your absence over the winter. Somehow I had a feeling you and Andy were toiling away tirelessly!

The racer looks great! I'll have to take a ride down there to check it out. When is the season starter? Which track?

Thank You Hammer Andy is the John Force of Prostock motorcycle drag racing. But unlike Force Andy does he OWN ENGINES AND FABRICATION He won the 2010 championship in AHDRA and is going to be my crew cheif in 2011 Superbike roadracing. He is a living legend as far as a Harley Davidson engine builder. But is still learning the ropes as far as Roadrace Suspension tuning is conserned .This is where our rider ..Lars Remsen.. comes in, he is not only a Multi time regional superbike expert Champion. Lars is also in his 2nd year of Mechanical engineering carrying a 4.0 average. My son Matt just graduated valevictorian at mecanical collage and Elmer a family friend and retired mechaic is anouther living legend as an engine buillder in dirt track auto racing ... talk about a TON of EGO under one tent lolol.

Seriously even though running a harley engined Superbike brings Media . We just like the challange of a project that has been said could never be done! (making a old tech Harley competitive= winner )

I havent been on being busy with other BUILDS also . We have Procharger Road glide at 205+hp and 175 torque thats nearing completion. That will be fun for smoking/humiliating squids on GSXR 1000s (racing in a strait line of course lol.)
then there was the CHINESE HONDA REFLEX SUPER TOURING SCOOTER BUILD: An EXACT copy of a Honda REFLEX thats AS big as a Harley Road Glide 1800$ NEW ... 250CC CRAP METAL ENGINE POLISHED, PORTED AND SHAVED HEAD FOR CORRECT ENGINE BREATHING AND HIGH COMPRESSION, THEN A REGROUND HIGH LIFT CAM TO MAKE THE HUGE TOURING SCOOTER TOP OUT AT 85 MPH AND CRUISE 75MPH EASILY. TOP IT OFF WITH PROGRESSIVE AIR SUSPENSION , 5.5 INCH SCREEN MIO GPS. CRUISE CONTROL HANDS FREE CELL PHONE USE . AM/FM STEREO AND MP3 PLAYER ... FOR LONG TRIPS HARD-MATCHING SADDLEBAGS SIDE AND TOP .AFTERMARKET ITEMS 600$ NEW SUPER TOURING SCOOT COPY 1800$ = 2400$ TOTAL . LOOKS LIKE A $10,000-11,000 LOADED HONDA SILVERWING . THE ENGINE HAVING POROUS LOW QUALITY METAL WILL WEAR OUT IN 20,000 BUT REPLACING THE CYLINDER AND PISTON COST ONLY 107$ ... VERY PROUD OF BUILD . NOT JUST GOOD FOR A ..CHINESE BIKE BUT A GOOD TOURING BIKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE FOR ONLY 2400$ NEW

Sorry had to use anouther model ... imagine it black with bags all around . New computer and I didnt transfer those pics. Exact same model though . HUGE and COMFORTABLE . Buddy now rides it 90 miles EACH way to work on highway at 75MPH. A few upgrades and you have an actual 1st rate touring bike. Chassis center of gravity is LOW 1-1.5 ft off the ground. The Honda reflex was designed as a touring bike in europe

Hey guys, this is Lars.

I just stumbled onto this thread and thought I would introduce myself to the gang. We are getting geared up to shake this bike down and I'm really excited! I've never raced a Buell, and am looking forward to trying something totally new. Having the linearity of throttle response developed by such a large, torque-y engine is really interesting. As long as we can develop a shock to cope with the massive amount of twist, this thing should fire out of corners like nothing else!

We should have some more pictures of the bike (not to mention some onboard video) after the test.

HI Everybody , GIVE A WARM WELCOME TO CCS86 , HES OUR RIDER. LARS BING A MECHANICAL ENGINEER , LIKES NEW CONCEPTS BUT HADNT RIDDEN A BUELL TILL LAST WEEKEND. LUCKILY LARS PICKED UP ON A MISTAKE I MADE IN FORK LENTH AS DIDNT COMPENSATE FOR THE NEW OHLINS SUPERBIKE FORKS AND SET THEM TOO LOW. WE WILL BE TESTING NEXT WEEKEND TRYING OUT A ISR 6 PISTON CALIPERS AND BRAKE TECH ROTOR UPGRADES. IF YOU NOTICE THE REAR ROTOR IS A ALTH FLOATING REAR ROTOR. LARS THIS ALLOWS THE USE OF THE REAR BRAKES FOR BALANCE AND LEVELING SUSPENSION. NOT JUST BRAKING AND SQUARING OFF CORNERS. ONCE S&S FINALLY DELIVERS SPARE ENGINE PARTS WE WILL BE USING NEXUS TRACTION CONTOL ANDXT PRO DATA LOGGING .THE OHLINS REAR SHOCK WILL BE REPLACED WITH A MUPO AB1 EVO UNIT A PROGRESSIVE SHOCK AND THE NEW PENSKE 8970 WHICH IS A NEW TYPE OF SHOCK ALTOGETHER IN MOTORCYCLING , USING TECH FROM F1. THE BIKE IS MADE UP OF THE MOST MODERN HIGH TECH CHASSIS/SUSPENSION BUT POWERED BY AN LOW TECH, LOW RPM,BIG DISPLACEMENT ENGINE. THE GENERAL PULBIC FORGETS OR JUST DOESNT KNOW THAT BUELL IS THE ONLY PRODUCTION BIKE MADE WITH RACE CHASSIS GEOMETRY( THEY CHOP/SHORTEN THE OTHERS= LIST STOCK GEOMETRY=WSB)MOTORCYCLE LAP TIMES HAVE DROPPED DUE TO HORSEPOWER GAINS AND TIRE TECH THAT HAS INCREASED IN LEAPS AND BOUNDS. CHASSIS TECH HAS BEEN DORMANT FOR A DECADE.

THANKFULLY LARS IS ALSO SKILLED AT COMPUTER WIZARDRY AND HES VAIN LOL.
