I'm going to be changing the fluids in my new bike pretty soon.(XB12R). The owners manual says to replace the clutch cover gasket. I thought I'd read that they had changed gaskets? Will I need to change it or get one just in case???
Thanks,Kevin

Oh, I put this here instead of the Knowledge Vault as I thought it was more of a specific XB question...

The 12 should already come with the newer gasket. It was the early 9's that did not. On my 9S I've pulled the cover a half dozen or so times using the same gasket. It wouldn't hurt to have a new one just in case the one you've got gets damaged when you remove the cover.

I have taken my XB9R to the dealer for all the manuals recommended service intervals and they have replaced the clutch cover gasket every time. The gasket price on the service invoice is only $2.25 so it's not a wallet buster, the only hassle is going to the dealer to get it.

Thanks Guys... I'll go get one before I change the fluids, just in case...

You may have fun getting the cover off... I had a hell of a time getting both the primary inspection cover and the clutch cover off when I changed my primary fluid for the first time... It seemed to me that they attached the covers when the "crinkle coat" finish was not quite dry.... anyway I had to make a little thin hook device to reach in and yank the covers off.... what a pain.... Just a little fore-warning... It might br a "pain-in-the-A$$"...

Thanks for the heads up, Freyke... First time stuff always takes longer... And as for the paint, sometimes I think it's just colored super glue... :)
