so tonight my dad and i went for a 100 mile jaunt and he said that he noticed my tailight was flickering on and off for a while then eventually went out compleately. since it went out it hasent come back on and i rode home with no tail light (no running light or brake light) so my guess is the wiring is bad in it. but just wanted to see what you guys thing, all my other lights and everything else works as it should.

if it is the wiring does anybody know which wire it is and all?

My brother's City-X had a bad bulb (the base separated from the glass), then it didn't want to stay seated. Just check the bulb, I'l bet that's it. If not, it has to be your ground wire to the bulb, since both running and brake light are out.

Here's a great reminder to check your lights often- I check mine quick on every ride, takes about 5 seconds. My brother probably rode for 3 months with NO taillight! : O

I put an LED conversion lamp in mine, seems to work pretty well and the brake is super bright. Also has zero delay when turning on.

I'm thinking about an LED setup myself. Probably an XB Light. I recently saw one in person, and damn if that mod didn't go right to the top of my list of winter stuff to do. Not a bad deal IMHO. Just gotta wait for funds.

Dependability rules!

For now, I just carry a spare bulb in the tail.
