Looking for some creative help here. I have a ticket for the races at Road America on Friday, but my shifter arm is broke and my parts aren't coming unitl Friday late afternoon. It currently is in 3 pieces. Any ideas?

OR does anyone have an extra on in the Appleton/Fox Valley area?

Which part of the shifter is broken? I used a large adjustable wrench to manually shift my bike into 5th so I can putt around as needed.

The arm is broken. Tear-drop shaped. The last part in-line that connects to the shift shaft.

I'd say F* it and put a vice-grip on it, but that would bend the teeth on the shaft. I would imagine that the shaft is somewhat expensive. No need to wreck it if I can find a different way around it.

Go to any other cycle shop and see what they might have so you can coble something together.

In a pinch, you could use a sportster shifter or even one from a Blast..
