so my xb9s has this "European light" in the middle of my headlamp housing. a little blue one. and earlier i turned the key on and hit my red ignition switch but the DDFI did not cycle. i looked and that little light was on but no headlights. finally after a few clicks of the key my lights turned on. if i turn the key off and on real fast is switches back over. its almost like another mode where the headlights are off but the middle one is on and then i can turn my headlights on if i turn the key off and turn it back on. its weird and i was just wondering why it would do that. is something wrong? can my bike run like that? what is that for if it is a mode? has anyone else had this happen? thanks guys. oh and where can i get an xb9s ignition points cover. my rivets fell out and the black cover is gone.

this is what it looks like the DDFI will not kick on so i dont know if the bike will start like this or not. i dont know if it is just a mode or what it is. can someone help? the headlights are not on its the middle light in the housing. and if i turn the key off and turn it back on the headlight will turn on but this is the first time it has ever done this.

My guess:
Ignition switch or the wires leading to the ignition switch are compromised in some way.
Start poking around back there, looking for chafed wires and loose stuff.

Perhaps can be fixed with electrical tape : )

Don't ignore it and think it'll not show up again.
It will.
At the worst time.
Do yourself a favor, and figure it out.
You'll be glad you did.

Where's the wires leading up to it come from do they run under the seat next to the fan? Could it really be the ignition if it is startin n runnin fine. It's just that headlight doesn't kick on all the time n if it doesn't kick on then I obviously can't start the bike
