I found this on youtube:

very nice video that this guy did, excellent idea for using foil on the muffler, I hated cleaning up the oil all over my muffler when I did it.

Really nice vid! That will be a huge help to many.

However, doesn't this bring up the dreaded "drain plug torque" issue again? Vid is recommending (as does the shop manual) 26-29 ft-lb. There's plenty of evidence here on this board that that is way too high and has cost several a new swingarm.

Why didn't he use the foil under the filter?

And that is a HORRIBLE way to fill the primary. How does he know if the oil is at the right level? A: He doesn't. You really ought to fill through the primary inspection window with the bike on a stand or stands (upright) so you can fill it to the proper level.

Also, are the torque specs the same for all XBs?

the torque specs are the same for all XB series, at least for the 12 motor it is.

I would use foil underneath the filter as well. there were some things left out of the video, most importantly was checking the level on primary, and the controversy around what to use in the primary, HD brand or off brand.

Even though it was outside the scope of the video, while your in the primary it takes just a minute but its also good to check the tension on the primary chain, it would have been really easy to show on the video what is acceptable tension or not.

another thing he didn't mention was to check the magnets on the end of the plug in the primary and swing arm for metallic trash.
