Hi fellas, I just acquired a micron exhaust system from jetroadracing.com and I have a K&N air filter, but those are my only performance mods. The bike is an 06 xb12r that I got this past summer. Clearly, from the title of my thread, my question has to do with getting optimum performance and how exactly I need to go about doing that, I assume my best bet is reconfiguring the ECM. I have seen a lot of talk on here about direct link or whatever and I am just really confused on what exactly I need to do. So, if someone could please help and clarify what it is exactly I need to do, I would greatly appreciate it and if you could please explain it like you are explaining it to a 10 year old, nay a 7 year old child. Thanks again for any help..

Al at American Sport Bike probably has a 'canned' map for that setup.

Do the open airbox conversion, and contact Al to get that map. He will get you everything you need. It works fantastic!
