Has anybody mounted a gps on their bike and checked the accuracy of their speedo? I am going to try to do this tommorrow on my 9R.

Just did this on the Uly! Santa brought us a Garmin Nuvi 255W which is pretty low-end, but works just fine for us. Mounted it temporarily on the tach. The speedometer on the Uly was spot on accurate. B.

speedos are usually 2 + - at 60mph and 5 + - at 100mph + on most bikes, to keep you from getting tickets manufactures usually set to calibration higher, so you are actually going slower

Tires will also factor the accuracy, some tires are a little different in shape than others and will be a little larger in diameter. Tire life, and pressure will make a difference too, but you will still be reading a few mph high on the speedo regardless.

I did this about a year ago - GPS read, 30 MPH speedo = 30 MPH; 60 = 61; 80 = 82; that's as fast as I took it. Pretty close really.
