I tried the Search but it doesn't seem to be working. I am going to fine tune the stock suspension for my weight. Any tips or hints? I am reading the manual right now.

You should find everything you need to know in the manual, it even tells you about fine tuning it too.

Baseline it by the book for your weight and "I" would suggest fine tuning one thing at a time so you know what did what and if it worked. You don't know what is or isn't working for you if you are dialing multiple things at once.

FWIW, I got a little slippage in the rear until I reduced the compression damping a bit from the book.

Ok, just so I don't mess something up. The book says to "loosen adjustment screw" for front preload. I do NOT mess with the "Adjustment Nut" correct? In other words I do not have to loosen the Adjustment Nut to perform the adjustment on the Adjustment Screw. I am reading manual then going out to look at the bike so I understand everything before even starting this.

Nevermind I figured it out just the screw.

No nuts to loosen. Just back out the adjustment screws to their extents, then dial in.

Cool, thanks. I got it done. It was pretty much set up for my weight already but I'm glad now I know how to dial in the suspension.

There is a PDF on the Buell site about tuning the suspension. Haven't read it yet but it is there for when I need to read it. Might be on the Fuell portion of the site.

If you check out the knowledge vault under suspensions and posts from Slaughter on the XB chassis, you will find all you will ever want to know about making the bike really work right.

The man tracks his bikes and knows his stuff.. from basic settings for the factory bikes and more adjustments for Penske / Ohlins rear set ups and respringing the forks and valving them properly..

Slaughter is the man,,,

midknyte, Me thinks you got it backwards: "Just back out the adjustment screws to their extents, then dial in." In all the years I have worked on motorcycles and cars (38) it has always been "screw it in lightly till it stops, then back it off the required number of turns." Please tell me I haven't been adjusting my Buell's suspension incorrectly all this time.

Dent you are correct. Manual says screw in clockwise until tight then back it so many turns.

Thanks for the correction.

Was it the clutch plate adjustment where you back it out, then turn it in?

TPS reset is back the idle screw all the way out, then after reset turn it back in to your preferred idle speed.
