So I looked in the knowledge vault. Came up with nothing. What I need help with is my front brake. I have an '09 XB with the ZTL 2 caliper and I just got some new pads. Well I'm in my garage this morning after work, bike on stands, tools all ready. Open up my service manual to the "pad removal" page when gee. What do I see? Instructions for the old ZTL caliper. FUGGGGG!!!! Now I'm thinking that it couldn't be too much different. Well it is. And I'm stumped. Am I gonna have to pop the caliper off to replace the left side pads or is there another way to get them out? Any help would be great. Oh. And anyone have the number I should call to report this and see about getting a right manual for my bike? Who knows how much else is wrong in there....

I have a ZTL1 but nonetheless this is advice.. the book says for you to unbolt the caliper and make your way, i usually take off the tire and leave the caliper mounting alone. this is a good time to detail the front tire from brake dust and whatknot. I had my caliper bolts come out when riding because i couldnt torque them down right because they are hard to reach with a standard hex wrench

Iwas thinking the same thing of popping off the front wheel just to be done with it. Looks like that is the only route that seems logical. As far as ur caoliper bolts backing out due to no torque, that i'm not worried about. But I am worried about the slot pins. They show 9-13 INCH lbs. My inch lbs wrench only goes down to 25. Lmao. Sum of a beech.
