I put a Jardine RT-1 carbon fiber pipe on my bike about 6000 miles ago and recently it had been getting awfully loud. So I decided to repack it only to find that it still had about 95% of the packing inside.

I repacked it anyways with Moose competition fiberglass packing, I used a full 500g bag and feel like I could have used more. Anyways, the muffler is now louder than before and I would like to quiet it down without the quiet insert Jardine makes.

Anyone know of good muffler packing that will do the trick? My ears are taking a beating and I don't want to have to wear ear plugs all the time. Maybe I should just pack it even denser with the Moose packing?

Thanks!

yeah...i hear ya LOL
thats why i ditched my jardine for a magnaflow .mine is now loud but different and is quieter while holding any speed.loud as hell at WOT.still over all,i think mine is closer to what i was after.
i have used metal screen with hose clamps to hold the material in place so it doesnt blow out.

I used the FMF glass packing in my CF Jardine and it made it much quieter. Back to near original Db levels.
