Just thought I would throw a thread out here to see what recommendations might be offered. I'm headed to Austin, TX for the next year and a half and will be looking for some nice roads to ride. Does anyone have any suggestions? I also heard there is a group of Buell enthusiast that ride often. Is that made up of anyone here from BadWeb?

There are a lot of great rides in the Hill County.

The Hill Country HellBuellies are about 20 strong and meet up weekly at Opal Divine's Restaurant on South Congress every Thursday at around 7 p.m. We also enjoy the company of a few Ducati's, Kawasaki's and other stray cats. We do a few annual rides to Leakey and Big Bend and some spirited weekend rides whenever we can. There are several other HellBuellie members on Badweb as well. Do a search on "hellbuellies" and you'll find a lot more dirt on us. Or, visit our group website at the site that Redwing posted.

Give us a shout when you get to Austin.

I'm not in Austin but would like to head in that direction sometime. I'm way South Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. There is only a handful of Buells down here that I know of.

I just returned from there. Top notch roads. Coming from a bankrupt state that can't afford to fix their roads, I can't go off enough about the quality of Texas asphalt! Last year when we were there we hooked up with Denny Bahm and Jay from Central Texas Harley and a few of their friends. Great people, you'll enjoy it, it's a nice city.

Thanks for the warm Texas welcome guys. I'll definitely join your crowd at Opal's, I believe it is right down the street from my future home off "Slaughter". By the way, you Texans have some great street names. When I called my lady to tell her I found us a place to live right off of "Slaughter", a couple of streets down from "Convict Hill Rd" she about $h!%.

The Hellbuellies are a great bunch of people(except for Tork-Rob doesn't talk to anyone. Luvyerguts, Rob!)

For serious, Austin has some GREAT riding in the area. Your TT has the suspension to gobble up the dirty, rough, isolated county roads that are all over the Hill Country. You'll love it.

Here's another link: http://www.motorcycleroads.us/states/tx.html
Be sure to look at the bottom of each region for additional roads and loops.
