Does anyone know if the XB12Scg uses shorter springs front and rear to get the lower ride height or do they use an entirely different fork and shock? I have a opportunity to by a mint XB12Scg at a good price but don't like the short height or seat and will swap them out if its just a matter of springs and seat.

My '07 parts book shows a number of different parts, for instance, the Outer Tube. Not as easy as ideal, it looks.

You see occasional posts here from people wanting to lower R's. You might try posting in the classifieds and work out a complete suspension swap with someone.

It will cost you less if you wait for the bike you want to begin with. Be patient and keep your eye open.

an easy trade is for an 03/04 standard S parts. As the SCG has the same size forks still.

Which I would gladly trade you!!
I have an 03 XB9S.

i'll even have the forks rebuilt (seals and fluid) before shipping out.

let me know if interested!
Id love to lower mine since im short and stubby!

CG to Regular and vice versa is straightforward swap:

Changed mine from XB9S Low (2003's CG) to regular height via component swap. I have some pics posted here in KV. Check the above threads for info.

It is a really easy swap as long as you can find someone to swap the parts. If you trade with someone that has a newer than 04 xb12s you will need to swap the lower tree for your forks. This is because they increased the diameter of the forks in 05. I did this swap this winter and had no problems at all.

Thanks for everyones input and just to add to the confusion. I looked at the lean angle spec's for the XBR vs XBScg and they are the same 48 degrees left and 50 degrees right. My concern is dragging stuff. I've owned a XB12R and never dragged anything at track days. A new seat is $110.00 and the Pro-Series springs appear to be available for the 2006 model but not 2005. So is Buell's web page wrong? If not I'll just pop for a new seat or trade and upgrade the springs.
