I'm going to go look at an '06 City-X with 9000 miles this weekend. I was just wondering if there are any stereotypical Buell and/or Lightning problems that I should be looking for or asking about. Its relatively cheap and would be my first Buell, coming from a 2000 GSXR600. Any help would be most appreciated!

no sir. certainly nothing particular to that year or model. when you get into modifications you have to be careful with the maps in the ecm. welcome to the insanity!
(buy it, you know you want to)

Beautiful bike, Ustorque. Another NH'er, I see. Tell me, did you paint the tail section of your bike, or is that an aftermarket/custom/whatever piece? It looks higher, and more agressive, than the average tail for a SX.

i did the tail chop, and painted the rails black, but i think the low seat is what makes the tail look more kicked up.

my city ain't got much city left in her, it's a great bike and for sure one that i will never get rid of.

have you owned or ridden a buell before?

I have never ridden one. I worked at a Harley dealer for a while and thats where I was first exposed to them. Although we werent a dealer, we got them on trade ins. I love the street fighter look of the Lightnings and I love the handguards and light-protector on the CityX. Eventually I want to get a German/British inspired tail that only fits one... maybe http://secure.wisconsinwebwriter.com/mm5/merchant. mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=sf&Product_Code=320&Cat egory_Code=TAILS

the buell is a very different kind of bike, there's really no middle ground you either love them or not. if it is your kind of bike it is absolutely infectious, and the people are pretty great too! stop on over in the "stormfronts" area and say hello in .
