I bought me 9R with conti sport attacks 190/55/17. I am buying a new rear sport attack but going back to the stock 180/55/17. Since I have never road the bike with stock size, what differences should I expect?

With new tires allow yourself a few miles to get used to it but there really shouldn't be a big difference unless the 190 was worn out.I just put Pirelli Diablo Strada(Sport/touring) tires on my bike and I love them.My first set was Dunlop's(ok) second was Bridgestone Battlax Bt-21(Front wears out first). If you are not a knee dragger don't waste your money on full sport tires. The sport touring types give you double milage of a straight sport tire.
Just my two cents,I hope it helped.Peace and Grease,Lesley

well the 190 was worn out from the beginning.
I no where near a knee dragger, but the front tire is still good and I am getting the "sport attack" for $110. Cant change the front one right now and Can't pass it up.

Going back to the stock size is the right move. It will turn easier. Wide tires may look good on the back, but hurt your cornering performance. I have Conti road attacks and really like them.

the 190 tire squeezed onto a 180 rim would make a more arched tire profile, so wouldn't that help make turning easier?
would the bike want to fall into the turn ... more than before?

i dunno, that's why i'm askin'

hope some of us with experience on both 180, and 190 will chime in and put an end to my speculation.
