I am thinking of putting amsoil syn 20w50 in my XB9R since its same price as the oil from HD. Is there anyone using it or have any advice.

Like Rocketsprink, I run it in my race bike in both the engine and primary with absolutely no issues.

My distributor had a booth set up at Silver Eagle HD/Buell during their fall dyno shootout where a guy ran his big twin, then changed oil and filter to AMSOIL right there, went back to the dyno, warmed up the bike and made two more horsepower.

I also ran AMSOIL in my street XB12R while I had it and put over 20,000 miles on it with AMSOIL in both holes.
Good stuff as far as I'm concerned.

I use it regularly in my race bike. Seems like good stuff. Less crap on the drain plug magnets in both the engine and primary, and the fan runs for a shorter time when the bike is turned off.

I run it in my XB12 and so far it seems good(2000 miles). I haven't noticed any difference between that and syn3 but my dad sells the stuff in his garage so its a bit cheaper.

I run it all the time. Had to use SYN3 in the primary before the last oil change, and when I changed them the Syn3 was the color of coal dust, but the AMSOIL was nice and gold. Made me a believer for sure I won't be doing that again.

I use it in both holes as well. Runs cooler and shifts smoother.

amsoil uses wix filters. They have a cross reference for the filters on their web site.

I used it for my 1,000 mile service; going to have a UOA done at the 5,000 mi mark to see how things are holding up.

May also experiment with HDEO and see how that looks. I run Delo 1300 Super in my Duramax and always get excellent UOA's with it.

What HDEO are you considering? I haven't found any in a 20w50, not sure I want to run a 15w40, even if it's hdeo.

I ordered some Amsoil and it should be here tomorrow. I guess I'm going to go to HD and get a filter. I could not find any of the three filters on the Amsoil site. I might try the local parts house first. What is yall's take on the filter?

I also run Amsoil in every vehicle I own from my Sport Trac to the Jetta to the Escape, and all 3 Buells.

BTW, Amsoil seems to make Amsoil.
