I got my wheel today. I opened the box to look at it and low and behold it had black bearing's in it. Now my question is. Did Buell start going back to black bearing's again??? Or did this brand new 2008-09 wheel get the bad black bearing installed ?? What I do know is until I find out its not going on the bike. All the bikes on the floor at the dealer including 07's through 09's on the floor at the dealer have orange bearings. |

Thats what I see in all the new bikes. I'm tempted to bring the wheel back. |

I HIGHLY doubt its the original bad ones from years back. It could be a different brand? or an even more updated one that just hasnt hit the assembly lines, just the individual wheels. |

sorry...your right 6005 is correct. think i was thinking about the idler! haha well lets break it down, its a 6005 bearings and it says "OK" after it so it must mean that your 6005 is OK! hahahaha really I think your safe but call the dealer to confirm. I thought they might have put a different size in......but guess not comparing them to a brand new pair I have sitting on the shelf here ( which are also black...but a different brand over the NTN brand Buell is known for using) (Message edited by rah7777777 on September 18, 2008) |

Perhaps this is the solution to the Ulysses bearing issue? |

Today at Danbury HD, they have a few 09's on the floor. I noticed they have 2 bikes with blue wheels and one with cherry bomb. All 3 had aug 08 build dates and black seals. The 1125's had orange seals, i believe they had another 09 xb with orange seals. |

+1 to that. Oh yea that other 09 XB was black, had orange seals. Don't remember what model it was. |

KBC is a good brand. If you have any doubts then change the bearings. The old ones (black and orange seals) were made in China, so if you are leary then upgrade to a BCA (France), Timken (USA) or Nachi (Japan and the best IMO). Here is a company I deal with that sells to other bearings distributors and a link on their site about KBC. http://www.bearingkinetics.com/kbc-bearings.htm |

Speedfreak, Thanks for the reply but I'm not paying for bearing to be put in this wheel. Its brand new and never has been mounted. I just want reassurance that its safe. |

I am sure its safe, as the production bikes I mentioned have them. |

I'm not doubting Froggy. Just strange they are using different bearings in the new bikes. |

I still think it might be related to the Uly bearing issue. Abe said the fix would be out by August, so who knows if that was it or not. Annony! Please advise! |
