Stunters have MODIFIED bikes.... Wicked sprocket set ups and high idle to walk the bikes when doin crazy sh@#... I ride with a couple of stunters (don't stunt myself) and they mostly do power wheelies when they are on their STREET bikes. Jap liter bikes though.

i read 916nimrod's post, in addition to alot of other write-ups about this, geared up and went out.

i never got to the balance point. i did freak my self out all the way and a talkin' to by the local officer.

maybe stunting is not for me, but it was fun. i think i'll stick to just floating the front wheel.
motorcycling is dangerous enough, I can leave the tricks to the pros.

to all the pros: please continue posting

I rode through IOWA via RT 80
It was almost eerie.
Nothing around except an occasional truck stop.

Does it change much when you get off 80?

Froggy
That pic ROCKS!!!

now that my elbow has healed, I have to start working these wheelies again

Okay, so today I tried the whole "get into first, bring to 3000 rpm, close throttle then slam it open" thing, and I did get the wheel to come up. I wasn't exoecting it to work, so I let off pretty quickly, but I bet it was a good 8-10" up.

I didn't try it again the rest of the day, but I was messing around with shifting into second more and letting the clitch slip a little, and even when I'm not romping on it (i.e. shifting around 4000 rpm) I can get the fromt wheel to hop up shifting into second and third by about 3-4" or so.

I'm getting there!
