I've searched the board on this topic (no low mileage bikes). My 08 XB12Ss the brake light is not working for both front and rear brakes. I have not checked the bulb yet; had to go to work. I figured the bulb could not be burnt out after 450 miles.? I'll check the bulb in the morning (part #1157 at autozone?). If this is not the problem, what are the next steps to check myself before I call the dealer? I can't imagine both brake switches failing at or near the same time or wires being cut/snagged. Fuse is fine, horn works. (Message edited by boney95 on May 09, 2008) |

I would consider the dealer. Both my brake light switches went out at the same time last year. To date I have gone through two front brake switches and one rear brake switch(all covered under warranty) |

Wow! I'd be surprised if it was more than a bulb. I see lots of new cars with one (or more!) brake lights out. |

You could always get a nice LED tail light setup..If of course you'd rather spend a couple hundred bucks over a few dollar bulb change. I just put a nice LED setup from one of our sponsers on my 08 after my light burned out twice in my first 400 miles. I figured that I midas well spend the money on it before my girl blew it on a new purse, or a "much needed" new pair of shoes..... |

With apologies to my 3rd grade teacher... "Care to share with the rest of the class?" The wire connecting to the rear light assembly worked it's self lose. I like to jump to conclusions...I bought a used 05 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited with 32,000 miles. I've had it in the dealer approximately 10 separate times. I got so pissed that I contacted a lawyer. Chrysler is paying out $4,000 for my troubles. $4,000G's = a not so stock 08 XB12Ss} |

Glad you figured it out. We share something in common. We both had to sue chrysler, aka Satan's As**ole... Thats my "pet name" for that great american/german company. Sued them in 01, got my money back in 03. |
