I seen the guy at 7-11 this morning on my way to work. Turns out it's a Honda CBR. He said he's buying a 1000cc+ something or other. And he told me that he'll blow the helmet right off my head next week. "I hope so cause when I get to that turn and I see your brake lamps come on, I wont be letting off. And again when I go by you on the in... No no, I'll take the long way and go around the outside of you. Watch my tail and tell me if you see the brake lamp dim any cause I won't even have to touch the brakes." I grabbed my gatorade and cheese danish and walked to the register. The girl at the register rang me up and I walked out side. And racerman has to have the last word. He walks over and looks my 9R over. "Is this thing a Harley or something? Ha ha no wonder I passed you like you were going the other way." I told him I don't wanna get a ticket so I ride like an old man. We get out of the lot at the same speed and he romps on it a little to the next light. I figure why not it's early nobodys around I guess i can play a little. We play red light drag/tag. And every time I end up ahead of him at the next light. And i know this is eating him up so he opens his visor and says at one light, "If we got 2 greens in a row I could get up to 100 or more and leave you in last week." To which I asked him "Know why? because Honda stands for 'Hold On, Not Done Accelerating'". Next light: Squid-"No its because I have so much power I have to wind it up!" Me-"What? I can't hear you over all this torque!" *Small Wheelie* Next light: Squid- "That aint nothing I'll show you a real wheelie!" after the light changed he starts jerking at the throttle and gets the nose to almost 12 o'clock and shifts into second ger before the front touches the ground. Again for third gear. Mean while I stayed at a slower rate to watch incase anything bad should happen. ***************************************** Cue Johnny Law and the blue light special in the oncoming lane. And that was where I decided to exit stage right. And continue my ride to work around the back ways. |

Actually, that's a great story. The picture kind of minimized the awesomeness of the story. Sorry 'bout that. |

haha I love the HONDA symbolism. I know all the inlines take forever to wind up and make some power. However get out on some long back roads where your ripping at 60-70 and cranking up to 100+ on the straights, well large back rds of coarse and watch those 1k's walk all over our buells. Or have a passenger on the back and be riding in a group getting on the highway and watch them all take off as ur ripping through gears just to keep them in your sights. around town they can kiss my ars and call it a love story |

I always say, "if I wanted a track bike I would have bought a Triumph, I didn't want one so I bought a Buell. Never been happier." Never much argument on that one. When people push on it I point at my buddy's Suzuki SV1000S v-twin and say, "thats not a bad bike either..." Drives the squids nuts, since his is Suzuki's take on my 12R -- you can see the motor, lots of torque, etc. Not as much as mine of course...my buddy once asked me, "you shift that fast?" after I repeatedly left him in the dust -- "Nawww" I said, "I just don't HAVE to shift."
