I bought the eBay special bar-end mirrors a few weeks ago. They didn't come with instructions, and were somewhat of a PITA to install w/o them I thought, but I got it done. Yesterday I took them back off to replace the grips, and now I can't get the mirrors to set right. They'll tighten up almost all the way, but still wiggle a little bit even after I've cranked the screws all the way down - so loose that I can pull them out if I yank real hard. What gives? Does anyone have any instructions for BEM's laying around? I couldn't find anything helpful online or in a search...maybe I'm just installing them wrong somehow... |

make sure you have those little aluminum expansion things lined up right. also make sure you didn't lose one of the spacer things in the handle bars. |

They have to be lined up? Like each of the "legs" on the inner sleeve has to be lined up with the "legs" on the outer sleeve? |

if i remember right, you should have a wedge shaped piece with a similar one that fits inside it. those fit into that little round threaded thing. then you should have two half cylinder looking things that fit over that hot mess. |

Bcool...did you find anything other than those expensive block off plates to fill where you took your stock mirrors off? It's a little ridiculous spending almost 60 bucks for a plate with threads. |

Are you talking about the mounts in the bars are loose or the ball on the mirror is loose in the socket of the clamps? If it's the latter then you need to loosen the screw opposite the ball a little then tighten up on the one right next to the ball. |

Badlions - I have a conical nut, and two sleeves. Each sleeve has four "legs" on it that can flex outwards when the nut is tightened. One sleeve fits inside the other. Firebolt - I have a Lightning, sorry... H/H Buells - the mounts in the bars are loose. |

Well, the "legs" had to be aligned...who woulda thunk? Works great now! Except for the left side, where I broke three of the inner sleeve's legs... Oh well, to call the manufacturer now! |

Damnit!...Ok...thanks. Those things are ridiculous man. Anywhere between 50 to 80 bucks for a friggin plate with threads. |

Firebolt - you can just use cap screws or some other form of "cosmetic" screw to attach your fairing to the post. Or...go "race ready" and thread a zip-tie through the holes ;) |
