So one of my first mods to my XB9S was to put a scotch-lock on the two (yellow and blue, IIRC) wires behind the flyscreen so the low beam stays on when the high beam is turned on. After about 800 miles of having it like that, my high beam no longer works. If I flip the rocker switch to HI, nothing happens - the low stays on. When I switch it to LO, the high bulb very dimly, quickly, flashes, but the low still stays on. When I press the flash-to-pass button, everything functions as designed. What gives? I did some research on here, but didn't find anything helpful... |

First mistake "scotch-lock" Don't ever use these products anywhere. They are horrible if the wire will see any vibration or moisture. Please remove and solder everything. That may or may not be your problem, regardless you should re-due it anyways. |

I've used them before in other applications w/o a problem - but I guess on the high-vibes Buell it's an issue. Regardless, if the scotch-lock is the problem, shouldn't the flash-to-pass switch not work as well? Ugh, now I have to search again for alternative both-lights-on methods... |

First mistake "scotch-lock" +1 Google Posi lock connectors. I swear by the posi taps. You can tap into a line with out cutting or damaging it. They create less resistance than a crimp and they're reusable. |

It is the scotch-lock. I plugged the bulb back in and wiggled/twisted the lock, and it went back on. |

Bill I think this is the alternative you're looking for: http://www.rhinowerx.com/fotos/details.php?image_i d=2501 Just did it last night on the Uly while I had the flyscreen off for other things. Took all of about 5 minutes. |
