I'm getting antsy for the XT I have on order. Up until yesterday, the H-Dnet system showed it to have a shipping date of March 14th. Now my dealer is telling me that it shows a "released to plant" status.

Can anyone in the know tell me exactly what this means and how much longer I can expect to wait?

thanks!

It means the order was released to the assembly plant for build. It's been put in line with the rest of the orders to be built in this stage. Timeframe? Not predictable...but take comfort that it's being born very soon : )

My first one was supposed to ship 3/6...hasn't yet. You're not alone.

The build schedule has existed since product forecasts were completed. The "released to plant" would indicate that your dealers order has been "married" to a specific VIN in the annual build schedule.

I'm a little surprised about the schedule slip. The XTs are already shipping to dealers and my past experience with previous Harley orders has always been that the schedule was pretty closely adhered to. (Not counting the Rocker or 1125 of course.)

I've found that the first batch or 2 of any new model tends to run a bit late. Call it caution, I suppose...although I do want to ride one when it comes in : )
