Anybody know if a stock 2007 XB12R ECM will work on a 2004 XB12R?

Yes it should. Just do a TPS reset and your good to go. : )

May i ask why you are switching?

Deciding to put the bike back to stock. Was finding out what year items I should look for : ). Even with the silencers I got in, the race kit still hurts my ears when out riding : (

yes it works fine. it will actually be a upgrade as the 07 has a few changes. that are better. the 04 ecms are not as good in there data profile. you can upload the o7 data to your ecm with ecmspy. in either a stock 07 or a race 07 but you cant mismatch the data its two different type ecms. so you have to put stock 07 in stock 04 and race 07 in race 04 data.
