well it looks like i have to replace the clutch already. something is wrong thats causing the clutch to not fully disengage. does anyone have any experience with aftermarket clutchs? or just stick with the factory clutch?
thanks,
Ed

Ed:

It seems that some XB's of your vintage have had issues with the "ramp" cast into the primary cover. Before getting new clutch parts take a look at he primary cover.

Maybe someone can chime in here with some details to inspect.

yeah, after further inspection you hit the nail on the head. that cast piece is broken completely off. unbelievable that this part is manufactured so poorly. any resolution to this problem besides buying the same primary cover and take the chance of the problem with the "ramp" reoccurring?

If it was me, I would contact my Dealer and let them inspect the issue. Buell has been helping Owners, even out of warranty, with this problem. That is the first step. See how that goes and let us know.
