I was just reading another thread and some people mentioned their fans running almost the whole time they were riding. The fan on my 03 xb9s only seems to turn on when you turn the bike off. I always hear it kick on when I hit the engine kill switch or turn the bike off. I have never noticed it running while I was riding.

I think the bikes with the longer frames run the fan more (Uly, S Long models).

The fan on my '08 SS has only comes on after I turn off the engine.

Just a guess, but since the current riding temperature has been in the 35 to 45 degree range since I got the bike may have something to do with that.

the 2008 xb's fan is set to come on at 455 degrees with engine on. thats about 30 degrees higher than the earlier models. it has a different temp setting for fan on key off.
