Seat height and key fobs:
I asked this question in another thread but it was quickly lost in the rumble, or else I missed the answer.

What is the functional perceived seat height of the 1125R? By this I don't necessarily mean what the measurement is from the unladen seat to the ground, what I mean is how high does it feel? For example, my 2000 M2 feels higher than my 1995 S2, and it also feels higher than a few older S1's I've sat on due to the M2 seat being wider and the S1 and S2 having narrow bicycle-like seats allowing the legs to get narrower around the bike. I feel like a Uly needs a step ladder to use it for a street bike, hopefully the 1125R will feel lower in seat height. I'm close enough to 6' tall to just call myself 6' tall, but I wear pants with 30" inseams, so I'm a bit long in the torso and a bit shorter in the legs than other people my height.

(Do you think anyone would mind if I snuck up to the Pilgrim Road facility at lunch and sat on an 1125R pre-release bike if one happens to be there????? Or I could meet someone at HalfPriceBooks at lunch and have a test-sit there while the rider goes to get a sandwich at Cousin's or goes to look for a Finite Element Modeling book in the bookstore. )

Key fobs:
My key fob of many years is finally beginning to break down, so I'm looking for a new one, hopefully a nice unique one. The Buell name on a rectangular piece of plastic are sort of okay, but I'm hoping to find one with more style and shape to it. Will there be a new keyfob released for the 1125R? Free with a test ride would be nice, free with an early demo request reservation would be nice as well, or I'd even go for one for a few bucks if need be. I want something that will last, will hold up well in my pants pockets, and won't disintegrate when used on a bike with the key in the ignition and the fob flopping around in the wind. Am I dreaming, or is this a possibility? Otherwise I'm going to have to keep an eye open for a spare Porsche fob around here, which seem to disappear faster than they appear to begin with.

Thanks for reading.

Try sitting on a Firebolt

The seat on the FB and 1125 are the same

The FB's seat height as well as the 1125 are both 30.5

The frame rails on the 1125 are no wider than the FB so leg spreading like M2 to S1 will not be a issue.

I am not sure if the seat angle has changed. Also the ergos from hand to seat and foot to seat are slightly different from the 1125 to the FB.

To summaraize, if you sit on a FB you will get the general idea : )

Mike,

See the post from Rex in this thread.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/290830.html?1185311244

I too have 30' inseams and I am encouraged from the laden seat height of 30.5 inches and the bike being narrow in general that we will be able get our feet down comfortably. Yet another reason to fall in love with the 1125r.

From Rex in that linked thread:
"and I could sit flat footed "

I think the GSXR750 just moved down the short list a notch.

Now to see if someone comes up with some footpeg relocators like Buell had for the S2, I'm thinking about an inch lower on the pegs and about an inch higher on the bars and it'd be close to M2 comfortable or S2 comparable or uh er well um oh well November isn't that far off.

well to me it looks like you could fit the XBS pegs on there...

That is a inch right there and I am sure Heli will come up with a kit soon enough...

i agree with the fob thing
i have a HD fob that came with my bike (s3) and am cool with that, but now the bike isnt using the HD lump id rather get something buell specific.

and as far as lasting - the HD bar and shield fobs are fantastic! they are rubbery so they form to whatever, but dont hold that shape, go back to what tehy were originally. as for tearing up - nope, i play with mine a lot and its good as gold. if buell can just make soemthing liket aht i'll be happy!

and im sure some migh tthink its silly to ask for something like a keychain, but a good keychain is important, dont want something crummy and it cant scratch your new bike up either, need a good balance

I have 28" inseams and a Firebolt is no problem at all. Neither is my CityX.

I have a leather Buell key fob I picked up at the factory a couple of years ago, but the logo was embossed in chrome
tanned leather so it is slowly fading away.

I had been using a Hal's bar and shield fob or a shoei duhamel replica fob for day to day until this last homecoming.
The good folks at Hal's hooked me up with a Buell blue oval rubber fob with the shop logo. (Thanks again guys!)

I wouldn't mind having an 1125r fob for my spare key though....I love Buell shwag, especially the last sling bag!
