What were the beginning signs that your fuel pump was starting to go bad, before any real problems were seen? How long did it take the pump, to take a complete shit? Thanks |

Check fuel pressure in diagnostic mode at key on (517 kPa) and while running (380-415 kPA). Short-cycling after key off could be failing check valve. Beyond that, it goes when it decides to. |

I am replacing my fuel pump because last year my bike started to sputter and jerk as if it was running out of fuel. This seemed to start as it warmed up and had run about 70 to 90 miles. I was getting low fuel pressure errors. If I stopped for about 30 minutes it would go away and I could ride until it needed to refuel. This year the first 2 times I took it out It happened only after about 10 miles of riding. I checked all the grounds, they were clean n tight so I decided to change out the fuel pump. Actually my bike mechanic brother is doing the work for me and It should be done sometime next week so I will report on how that turns out. |
