Are the parts the same for the 08 and the 09 stator and rotor fixes?

Is there a point of no return on fixing a partially burnt stator? Tried uploading the pic but no luck. the points aren't burnt but the edge is melted a little?

Q1 No the '8 & '9 stators, rotors and cases are different.

If the stator output is with in spec, and there is no short to ground you are good for now. melting means heat, when the insulation fails ( melts or burns ) then the stator is bad because short circuits absorb the output.
