I've never adjusted front forks before and would like to make them stiffer, I see the adjusters in top of forks but just want to get some direction before changing anything. Instructions? Is it as simple as it looks?

tightening the colored nut increases the preload on the spring making it stiffer. tightening the screw inside the nut increases the rebound (edited thx ) valving.

The lower leg is much the same only this is only a jounce (edited thx ) valving setting.

Small steps get best results.
I use a socket and ratchet and set the wrench as though it were the minute hand (of a clock). set it forward five minutes, from wrench at ?:05 to ?:10.
