Okay, so I start the bike up and leave it in neutral. I notice a rattling noise. It isn't the stator rotor nut because I just checked the torque on it when I changed my stator. This noise was there prior to this stator repair. I just figured before I posted this thread I should check the rotor nut. All is good. I now notice that its idling cold or warm and make a rattling noise. I pull the clutch in it goes away. Let it out and it come back. I rev it up above idle and it goes away. It wasn't like this last year when I ran the stock exhaust. I installed a hmf for 7k and of course heard nothing. Lol Now I installed the stock pipe again and notice the rattle. Any ideas?? Like I said, I pull the clutch lever in and it goes away instantly. I don't hear it riding and it runs great. When I replaced the stator I looked over the gearing and all was intact on that side. No metal shavings are found in the filter or the pump screens. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I just want this bike fully ridable this summer without any issues. Gas prices are on their way up and the french just bombed 4 of lybias tanks and shot one jet down. Its nothing looking so good for gas. I need this bike up and running top notch. | ||

It's likely backlash in the tranny gears -- perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Just make sure you have the oil level correct. |
