I removed my Remus yesterday to install a 'Tubbs' pipe (a kind of UK Drummer) and noticed large areas of paint falling off the underside of my crankcases and a lot of oxide deposition - far worse than there's ever been on the Magnesium cases of my 62 yr old race bike.
My bike is blown dry after every wash and kept in a heated workshop, it's never seen a salty road but this fault has been reported several times on UK Buell forums.
Others have reported that they've been told it's not a Warranty issue by dealers and I'm not inclined to deal with BUK (via their 'helpline') again since they sap the vitality from your soul and you just know you're going to get the reply, 'refer to your dealer'. So, to sort this myself, is some kind of etching primer needed and is there paint/colour code available? Thanks.
