I rode on a Busa one time, and I will never ride one again. They are tanks, and not very nimble. Not to mention, I don't like the rider position at all. Good bike for a drag strip I guess. V-Max included. |

Yup...'busa...pretty much straight line focused...not many are owned very long before the owners have the swing arm stretched to make it even longer...there are a huge number of them around here...low and polished or chromed...with wheelbarrows full of gofast thrown at them...and the crazy boyz ride em in shorts, tank tops and joe cool sunglasses |

Yeah Busa's arent really sportbikes, they look similar, that's all, wheelbase is pretty long and like stated most make em longer, they are into street dragracing, and you have to admit they do well at that. Modified ones do pretty good at landspeed stuff too, Maxton, Texas, even Bonneville although out there it's not just HP, you gotta have aero and traction........ |

Maybe he'll be the first 1125 to make 205? Especially if he gets the same cop running radar that clocked the rc51. |

I learned a long time ago the trick to beating a Busa. Aim your kimber 45 right at his engine. You dont even have to pull the trigger. He will panic, pop the clutch and his bike will go straight up in the air and probobly land on top of him. Crushing him in the process. Then you just slowly drive away...The Winner. |

Thats a very clever technique. ... i'm guessing the success rate is very high. |

If you want to beat a Busa with a twin in a drag race, you'll have to build a 160" sportster, stretched, lowerd and NOS.... |

I think your perceptions of Busas are a little off. I ride with a couple of guys that have them and one is the fastest guy in the group! He is routinely chased by a well ridden CBR1000 and 1098! Some of the stuff we ride on is pretty technical and he has no problems getting that big bike to rotate and transition. Is it the best tool for the job? No, but slow and lumbering it ain't! |

Sounds like he's just the best rider of that group. You said it I didn't......... |

Any Idiot can punch the throttle, take it down through some nice curves and work in the Riders skill with an agile bike |

But if an said idiot punches the throttle on a parachute it will not be as fast as a tear drop. The Busa secret is as much in design as in power. I think they really are apples and oranges Buell is for twistys and Fun Busa is about bragging rights and flash. |

I had a 99 X1 Lightning that was cool as hell (see profile pic) I loved the sound the handling etc. I loved it right until some loud mouth turd at my work out ran me on an FZ6. I thought about big bore kits and anything else you could imagine to out run him, I could smoke him in the twisties but on a straight he'd pass me no problems. After all the money calculations of what it what do to get the Buell up to speed I took the cheapest way out, I sold it and bought a Busa. I haven't ridden it yet (still winter here in AK) but I will let you know how bad it handles. I have had all sorts of bikes and each one had it's strong points, if speed is what you are after sell the Buell. I guess I was not ready to slow down yet. If you can't beat em join em. |

Never rode one but when I sat on one at a dealer it felt heavier to get off the stand than my harley. My R will go all the faster I need to go on the street and then some. I think I'll keep the handling and not worry about the straight line speed. My $.02 |

1125R will smoke a FZ6. I just love corners to much to own one of those Bling Kings. Well at least you got the most popular bike for customizing these days. Just make sure to post any pic's of the artwork you get painted on it. |

Wow an 1125r smoking a stock FZ6??? Really, an FZ6 is a sport touring bike that makes about 85hp at the wheel. I hope an 1125r will smoke an FZ6... |
