FMJ,

I checked the link, thankfully before Badweb hiccupped last night. Don't know how I missed that thread...

The tranny is working much better now. It shifts like butter! Ready for the trip to T.W.O. Wednesday-Sunday (keep this in mind when I don't respond to any E-mails during this time). It's so nice the odometer now reads 97,000 miles. If I were to orchestrate it so that I would turn 100,000 miles at Homecoming, that would mean that I would have to leave it parked after I get home from T.W.O. until it is time to leave for Homecoming.

Like that's gonna happen!

How cool is this! Google maps now has satellite imaging. Go to google maps

http://www.google.com/maps

Find what you want to find, and look in the upper right hand corner. Click on Sattelite. Different areas have different quality (Google bought keyhole).

Try searching for tellico plains tn : )

Very cool stuff....

Hey Newfie!
I never heard if you were coming down for the Homecoming this year. Did you hear that you will need a passport? I never even thought about that when we came up last year. That would have sucked to get stopped because of that.
I'd hate to have you get stuck down here like a friend of mine did in Paris a couple of years ago when his passport was stolen.

At least you'll be back here in a couple of weeks for a visit. Mike told me a story about you on the back of an S2?

The world's first hydrogen-powered motorbike has been launched in Britain. [Betcha the only one they sell in America is purchased by Richard Gere.]

It can reach 50mph in 12 seconds, produces no emissions and is as quiet as a laptop computer - but that could be a problem.

Anti-noise campaigners welcomed the prospect of a motorbike without the usual earth-shattering roar.

But engineers are considering adding an artificial "vroom" as they were worried its silence might be dangerous.

Harry Bradbury, chief executive of manufacturer Intelligent Energy, said: "There has never been a silent bike produced, so no one is used to it.

"As it goes forward towards production, we're going to give thought to some light noise modulation."

He is planning to introduce an artificial engine noise which could be used in an urban setting to alert other road users but switched off in the countryside to allow for a peaceful ride.

The bike is powered by a briefcase-sized cell filled with high-pressure hydrogen, which needs to be topped up every 100 miles.

FMJ, you may want to re-post that ad.
We had server problems this afternoon.
They could have been dropped when the system came back on line.
Oh, and by the way, is there a newbie LSR handbook/website somewhere?
I'm lookin' to go to Maxton next year, and I want to find all the info I can.

I was just wondering if there was any place to get tips and stuff. You know, the kind of thing you don't find in a rule book, or FAQ.

Jim,

When did you post the ad?

If on Sunday late morning to early afternoon PDT or between noonish and 2PM PDT today it may have been lost.

Big time sucks. Sorrry about that. You had it all saved in another file on your PC though right? If you are real lucky the html page showing your ad may still be in your computer's disk cache. Take a gander at your history in MSIE with your PC unplugged from the internet. If that file is still on your machine, you should be able to recover it in offline mode. That has saved my butt before.

I still haven't figured out how MSIE decides whether or not to try to pull up a new version of a page you've visited previously. Unplugging from the internet is the only sure-fire way I know of preventing an existing page in MSIE disk cache to from being overwritten when you try to recover it.

Someone more fluent in PC'ese might explain it more better than I am doing.

Basically just unplug the network cable from your PC and click on the "History" button or "View"... ""Explorer Bar"... "History"... then locate the day of interest and the site and start looking throught the saved files.

If your preferences are not set to save internet content, it may have already been lost, but it is worth a try.

Again, sorry for you pain. I've been there, done that too. It SUCKS!

Blake

Order a rulebook from ECTA and SCTA and study well.If you can come out to Bonneville in sept the USFRA runs a 130 MPH club there that gets you a feel for LS racing. That's what got me started.I'll be there in sept as usual, sounds like Steve Shakeshaft is planning on coming out, always a few more.
