Thanks Josè for the pictures and the link. Great article, although they could have spelled Erik's name correctly ; )

Mikeyp, Maybe if you added a photo like the one in this ad, the helmet would sell faster~ http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7927290261&ca tegory=6749

Went to Team ProMotion track days at Pocono this weekend. First time on a bike in a year - really! I was a bit nervous about getting back in the saddle (pun intended ; )), but took it slow, practiced my drills and technique, and got up to decent speed during day one. Great weather, although cold both days. If you haven't yet, you owe it to yourself to do a few track days. You'll be surprised how much you can learn, when you're not worried about oncoming cars, speed traps, gravel, loose dogs etc.

It was great to see quite a few buellers there. 4 guys on XBs in various states of tune and modification. The XB may become more of a track bike than the tubers were.

Also interesting to note what other bikes were there. In line with some of the more silly threads here, most of the guys in my group (Red/intermediate) were riding new-ish liter bikes. One CBR600RR, a Superhawk, a Duc 748 ... and me on an SV650 : ) And just to settle that argument once and for all - there is no way I can keep up with a ZX10 on the back straight : D

On a Buell performance topic; our friend, Brion James, is now apparently presenting himself as a jet engine intake engineer with Lockheed ... go figure. He is also still promoting the BS of the stock stack deforming and hurting performance. Too bad we haven't gotten the word out far enough.

Time to start thinking about winter gear... okay so it's actually late to start thinking about it. But here's a nice device I stumbled upon and am looking into buying, Polly handlebar heater.

I'd never heard of this type before:

TR9... thats an interesting setup for a good price.

How would you run the wires? Drill the bars? I would worry about weakening them...

Ferris,
Give Peggy a ring with BRAG, perhaps you can use that smooth talking way of yours to position yourself into the world of BRAG as their pre-run specialist...: )

On another note today, Wycked loaned my his clutch cable from his '03 XB12sr, fit no problems, oil leak solved. Let this be a note to folks that own tubers, clutch cables interchange.
Jammed a few miles up to Bartlett lake north of Phoenix. great ride, although I received a ration of crap from some sport riders due to my attire... Shorts, LOL.
Hey, this is Phoenix, it's frikken hot here!!! LOL
Feeling better everyday, and loving the ride time.
Thanks Wycked!!!

Haha... no that is not my ad, nor is that my chick. Your too kind though!!

I was thinking that same thing that I'd have to drill the bars. I think it would be okay, considering they are break away items anyways (in an accident) for the most part.

I think Roc has already had them on his ride(XB), that is how I found out about them

Concerning those grip heaters and drilling the bars, I would think that one hole in the middle of the bar inbetween the handlebar clamps would have no effect on handlebar strength. That's where you'd want the wires to go anyway to eliminate any possibility of binding and to minimize rubbing. My 2 cents. I don't need grip heaters down here in the Deepest Darkest South.

Ara, please don't get them going on the South again!

Personally, I consider the area between I-10 and I-20 to be barely habitable. North of I-20 there be dragons (or abominable snow-men)!

So how many other here were sent the "spam" e-mail for the patches for sale? The Willie G stepchild ones. I'm sorry, I just hate people using theses forums to send me unsolicited ads trying to hock their wares.

Road Thing,

I agree with you, and I think that the area south of I-10 is far worse than that. I remember what hurricane Camile did to Corpus Christy, and swore I'd never live in hurricane country. A great many people would agree with me now, given this year's rabid hurricane season.

I, however, live north of I-20. :-)

From landracing.com

Team Elves Aaron Wilson Buell 1650cc MPS/PF with Tim Horton driving ran a very impressive 205 mph on this Buell. This is a possible 200 mph club entry.
