I posted details about MITM VA 2003 under the Mid-Atlantic (DC-VA-MD) Storm Fronts Forum. It'd be nice to see some of the characters here and from SACBORG. Buell bikes may suck but Buell riders are some of the best people/riders I know.

Thanks guys. I'm on the verge of ordering a Works Perf front shock for the Beemer which actually has a very rudimentary Showa.

My second recall shock (post-SRP) blew out its juice in about 2,000 miles and my extended warranty ran out in December 2002. I'm wondering if they'll do anything for me or I shouldjust send it to Lindenman's for a rebuild.

There are very few sources for Buell shocks that I know:

Penske
Maxton (UK)
Works Performance? Cool!

Here's a guy that wore all his protective gear and still bought the farm. A moment of silence for Daijiro Kato who passed away last night as a result of his horrific crash two weeks ago.

Ahhhhh heck I'll post details here as well.

Well it's MITM (Meet In The Middle) time again. We had a great time last year at Snowshoe WV and we're looking forward to another great mini-rally. This year's MITM will be from Sunday July 13th through Friday July 18th and it looks like we may be staying at Warm Springs VA right on Rt 39 near some great WV and VA roads.

Our core group of about 10 riders or so is set but we're looking for a few more as always. The lodging costs will be $200 for the week and the place I'm looking at includes a country breakfast and fishing right there.

The place: The Meadow Lane Lodge is Warm Springs, VA
http://www.meadowlanelodge.com/main.htm

The time: Sunday July 13th through Friday July 18th (some folks are heading up to Mid-Ohio after MITM)

Cost: $200 for the week. Rooms are also available for $80 per night ($40 per person as some rooms have two beds) including a full country breakfast.

ALL BRANDS WELCOME

We're gonna have everything from full dressers to Buells to Beemers to TLs to RRs.

If you're interested email me at cdtres@mindspring.com or join our mailing list (recently clogged up with useless drivel). To join send an email to "maiser@charlotte.homeip.net" and in the BODY of the message type "subscribe mitm2003" without the quotes. Make sure to reply to the confirmation email and you're in.

All right! I finally got 500+ mile on the M2L!
Dealer here I come. As I suspected, far smoother at 70 mph than 60. 80 mph is just purring along, and I turned coward @ 100. Good thing too, as my old Vetter Bagmans started unstrapping themselves leading to a side of the road reassembly in pitch dark as the winds increased to about 40. Nothing but good times. Changed oil to synthetic (Castrol 20-50)@ 250 miles, I'll ask the dealer to try the new H-D synth in the primary, & I'll let you know. Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Orngm2,
How do you break a gas cap? Did the plastic portion break? Any of the caps from any Buell seem to work, S3, M2, X1, Blast. Not sure if the XB's still interchange.

Hi all,
I'm a new member to your site and a new/old member of the Buell community in general.

I purchased my "96" Parkway blue S2T as a new leftover in "98". After riding it for two years I sold it to a friend to get a comfortable touring bike for my wife and I to enjoy together. My wife is handicapped and over the following year her health deteriorated to a point that she was not able to ride anymore.

Last week I bought back my Buell! There were a couple of broken items from a fall off the side stand and she was VERY dirty.

I have since replaced the broken stuff and given her a complete cleaning...she looks great again.

All . . .. .I really didn't mean to start the old helmaet law boogaloo deal again (grimace) . . . the guy I wrote about made a choice, certainly, but something tells me he didn't make that choice entirely consciously, or wittingly, or on purpose ("lemme see, I'll go out riding tonight, risking my family's emotional and financial health so I can look cool and ride the way I want";). . . . . . still, it was, in Illinois, his choice to make, and I support his right

I gotta agree with MikeJ and lend weight to his statement . . .personal responsibility is the ONLY answer that works . . . helmets, guns, votes, driving cars, you name it

mikej,
i broke the black plastic piece.
the hole in the center of the black plastic piece has a flat spot on 2 sides of the hole, they seem to have rouned off and the tab that lifts up and you turn to remove the gas cap just spins. took apart the gas cap and saw the damage first hand. don't know if harley sells just the plastic piece or if i need to just buy a new gas cap but i now have a gastank fullof gas and no cap. anyhoo if anybody has one lasying around let me know.

Ara:
MITM (Meet In The Middle) was started on SACBORG last year when Lurch decided to host a buncha guys from the East Coast (Mike Palladino, Cecil, Greg Santrock and others Tristate Trash) and guys from the West Coast (Vik, Chop and others) in Omaha, Nebrasaka...sorta in the middle of the country for riding, partying, track day, etc.

I decided to put something similar together in WV which is also "in the middle" for guys coming from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Maryland. Snowshoe, WV is also smack "in the middle" of WV so we did loops going north into the Canaan Valley and south all the way to Hinton. A great time had by all. This year we decided to have it a little later in July as opposed to April and we're choosing slightly lower ground in Warm Springs, VA. This location still qualifies as MITM as everyone is still riding approx. 400 miles to get there.

Orngm2,
Post on the Thumper page here. A lot of Blasts came with a non-locking gas cap and many of them "upgraded" to a locking version and may have their original one laying around. I believe the parts interchange. In the mean time you may try using some JB-Weld stuff for plastic and see if it works, just ensure whatever you use is gas-proof.

Any ideas on where I can go shopping for a lighter gauge spring for my boost controller.I am experiencing too much boost and only way to decrease it any more is with a lighter spring.Spring puts pressure on a piston that is moved by boost pressure to change vanes in turbo so as rpms/boost builds it puts out less/or near same boost.(And don't say Aerocharger as they suggested taking my present spring to a belt sander.)

Does anybody know the part number for the seat retainer pin on a Blast? The tapered bolt on the bottom of the seat that gets locked in when you push your seat into place. I think its the same as other Buells.

Help! I'm new to Buelling having just bought a 99 M2 w/4k and a full Race Kit. Love the bike but it needs sorting out. What's the deal with the dipsticks, are they accurate? Mine keeps using oil whenever I add it to the tank. Is it ok to run the crankcase vent to the airfilter? Also I have to go to reserve around 100 miles and there's still over two gallons left in the tank. Love this bike and need help.
