I have a Blast!, and it is stock.

Umm, I took the stickers off, and haven't found replacements that I like yet...

I changed to synthetic lubricants. Does that count?

Oh--I also got a windshield.

Umm, I also changed the exhaust pipe.

It's custom made, so nobody else has one exactly like it.

Then, I had to rejet.

I'm changing mirrors next.

I know EZBlast's is stock, too.

When I got my Cyclone, I made a promise to myself that I'd leave it stock for the first year to let my bank account cool off.

I had to drop my bike off at the dealer the second month I had it to get the rocker cover leak fixed. My girlfriend was only 3 minutes late picking me up, but it was enough time for me to lose my shit and buy a V&H slip-on, a Forcewinder and a jet kit.

So much for stock.

Need some feedback to push me one way or the other ...
3 years in Germany or 3 years in Hawaii? What do you think?

DAve
... I'll pass on the year in Korea if possible

Dave,
I have done 2 years in Korea and 3 years in Hawaii. Hawaii was great and was absolutely beautiful but the speed limits are low and the roads are short so riding leaves something to be desired. Korea at least would get you back to the mainland faster so that might have its advantages as well.

I haven't been to Germany so I won't give my opinion on that.

Dave,

Spent a week in Germany last year. Loved it, can't wait to go back. Fantastically, unbelievably, universally biker friendly. I was amazed.

Only drawback is TUV, the German equivelent of the EPA and worse. All bike parts and accessories have to be TUV approved, and inspected yearly to prove it. A buddy of mine got busted because he did not have a clear plastic lens on the *bottom* of his tail lamp (for the license plate eliminator) to prevent dirt getting on the bulb. Note that G.I.'s get some sort of special exception, and drive really loud Harleys around and seem to get away with it.

Hawaii would be really pretty, but would be expensive and limiting, and would probably get old after a while. Germany would keep you entertained, and all of Europe is within driving distance!

So I would vote Germany. Email me offline if you want the name of a US friend of mine (he is ex Army) that married a German woman and has settled there, he could answer more specific questions for you.

DAve,
Germany. Then you can ride the mountains in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France whilst enjoying their respective cultures.
Of course, about an hour from their western border is also Amsterdam

Dyna,
I think that's one of his neighbors. His sign, from what I've heard, is just an arrow pointing to the neighbor's sign. Oh, and below the sign is a fresh mound of dirt about 2'x6' with a shoelace sticking up out of the dirt. ;)

http://www.lockhartphillipsusa.com is acting funny.

Could be a web snafu, or a busy net day, or something else.

Dave,
My vote goes for Germany. I spent nearly three years there in the '70s. If I'd had a bike at the time it would have been twice a much fun. If you are in Bavaria you're biggest problem is trying to decide which direction you want to ride that day.

I spent 30 yrs working in the med east I have witness many un fair business practices by the French and the Germans. My self I would like to see our support and money pulled from the UN and the French and Germans. They are snakes and canot be trusted. They are trading everyday with Iraq and Iran and are no friends of ours.

DAve,
If you end up in Germany, would you mind slapping the sh_t out of those politicians there, who decided to partner up with the French? Seems like they have forgot who saved their a_s after WWII.
You have to go anytime soon?

Dave,
Head to Germany,

I went to reforger in 84, via 113 and 577, so it wasn't much fun. Drinking is fantastic tho.

You'll get to ride in Italy and France, and Spain and all the places the rest of us would have to pay through the nose to get our bikes to.

Who knows , 3 Ducati's next? A Ducati, Laverda and MV?
