You should call Mr. Barber at Barber Motorsports and see if he would be interested in adding it to his extensive collection. That is one beautiful bike!

I doubt Barber would be interested. I know of another Buell with a Huge amount of history and they didn't nibble.

You must have some sort of price for it that you're thinking of, how about a hint.

Barber has all #1's that he bought from a most interesting fellow who recently passed away in Florida . . . and who played an interesting role in Buell history.

A most satisfying motorcycle to ride . . .

I wish I could afford to make a reasonable offer. There is one available locally for $7500 with 5000 miles. I'd assume your in that ballpark (if not higher).

PLenty of offers for less than $9000, just probably not ones that won't make you steamy under the collar. If my truck was done, I'd try to trade, but it's too cold to ride my bike every day.

I'm a Chevy guy, and I don't understand the Jeep thing. I do understand the Buell thing though. At a point and time I did want one but I ended up with a S-10 Blazer instead.

Don't hesitate to PM me offers.
Thanks

Sure is nice. Is it comfortable for an all day ride?

>>Is it comfortable for an all day ride?

It's really not bad. You quickly learn the "Buell duck", the little maneuver's you're forced to learn to check the mirrors, and it's fairly enjoyable.

The geometry of the bike, although the numbers are identical, is much different from an S-2 or S-1.

The RS/RSS places the drivers butt directly above the rear axle (old times have heard my "plumb bob" story . . I'll spare you here) which contributes to the bike being less "flickable" and rewarding good planning and thinking ahead.

In many ways, I like it. It's a very "planted" ride and settles in very nicely at the speeds of 80 and 115 mph . . . two places in the power band where the bike just "likes to be".

But . . . in all fairness . . . I'm kinda talking out my butt cause I've never ridden one over 793 miles in a day so I can't speak with the personal experience and authority I could lend to bikes like the S2, S3, S1, M2 and X1.

It will attract a good deal of attention wherever you park it.

picked up my RS in denver, drove it home to NC in a couple of days. having never ridden a RS/RSS, i thought it would be a tad 'uncomfortable'. it wasn't. and i can attest to Court's comment about 80-115 mph - VERY NICE.
oh - i'm 5'9"

Er. . . that's 80 OR 115 . .. 80 is 4,000 and 115 is about 5,700.

No idea why . . . . I'd listen to some "harmonics" argument . . .I just rid'em and know the bike likes those two spots.

Nothing more fun than, in the Western US, setting the needle on 115 and cruising for an hour.

I put S2T bars on mine and found it much more comfortable.
You have to rotate the brake reservoir to clear the fairing, and if you have one with the wires-in-the-bars it can be an interesting swap, but the end result is worth it.
