Really? I wonder why? The race header had the same geometry as the S1 header from the rear cylinder exhaust port to the heat sheild area (and maybe even a little further)...

Maybe you are referring to the single layer heat shield vs. the later, double-walled, insulated heat shield? Technically both fit the same headers even though they are visibly different in appearance.

I have a (slightly customized) S1 single layer heat shield on the race header on my S2...

It may be the single/double layer I'm thinking of. All I know is, I have one shield that fit my race header...and one that didn't.

And neither fit my S2.

(if it was anybody but Brankin calling me out on this, I'd say they were crazy and swear the shields were different without even thinking twice about it...)

Its a S1W......2 1/2 inch.....not the race pipe........the S2 shield....even with major surgery won't fit......(really wanted to keep the 2 look).
