Like it says in the title. Mine is not acting right. I've checked the connections and ground, even ran a separate jumper from the coil to the tach to make sure the issue is in the instrument and not the wiring.

I'd prefer an actual S2 tach rather than a later model, just so the face matches my original speedo.

Also could use a nut for the speedo reset knob if anybody's got a spare.

No, it reads OK up to about 3K, then drops out intermittently. I was thinking bad connection, but when I jumpered it straight to the coil and it continued to do the same thing, I figured it's in the instrument itself.

While I had the bike apart for the last year and a half the dash was on my bench and probably got knocked around some. Probably self-inflcted damage.

I found a bunch of Buell tachs on ebay for $50-$100, but most are from later models that won't match my speedo.

Which logo u looking for? I've got 2 s1 dashes complete and they have different logos... they should be the same for the s2. If u don't need the whole cluster I'd consider parting one out for you.
Lemme know

The S2 should have the original "Mobil Oil" pegasus logo with hooves...

Here's what's on it now:

I don't need the whole cluster, just the tach and the speedo reset nut.

Thanks Jsun!

Rat--assuming the new tach fixes the problem, the old one will be available for experimentation.

OK, I got the new tach and put it on, it had the same issue as the old one, but after some jiggling around and tweaking the connections and the harness, it seems to be working. I'm not entirely convinced the old tach was bad, but now that I've got the new one on and working, I'm done messing with it.

Now to finish up the paint and body work on the fairing and put on the new mirrors and turn signals.

Thanks, Jason!

There's only so many connections between the coil n tachometer... that would make me nuts.
I had a similar problem w the speedometer. Sensor on the axle went bad n the blinkers wouldn't shut off. Seems unrelated. Didn't care for a while that speedometer didn't work but blinkers didn't stop. Drove me nuts.
Fixed em both.
You have my spares. Hold on to em in case I need em again!!!!

Jason: Check the green/white (I think) wire that comes off the speedo--it has a funny single snap connector on it under the instrument panel. That's the wire that carries the speedo signal to the shut-off module.
