I'm looking to pick up equipment for a new venture, and unfortunately I need to part with my Buell to help fund these purchases. This is ABSOLUTELY one of the cleanest, nicest, and well equipped S3T's you'll find out there. We know clean S3T's are difficult to find...much less one with all these (original factory) goodies! It comes with BOTH sets of factory luggage lids (shallow and deep), as well as the FACTORY liners for BOTH shallow and deep lids, FACTORY wind deflectors, Corbin seat, a pair of spare Buell seats, etc. Bike has always been EXTREMELY well maintained. A friend of mine was head Buell tech at a VERY well regarded Harley / Buell dealership, and he's helped me service / go over the bike. It has the blessing of an OFFICIAL Buell tech. The bike current runs like a champ, and it's ready for a cross country ride TODAY. If you want to fly in to Springfield or Branson airports, and ride the bike home, you won't be disappointed. I think you'll have to ship the accessories though, because it comes with too much stuff to carry! Here's a rundown on the bike: *1997 Buell S3T (1 of 81 in this specific configuration) *23xxx miles *Metzler ME-880 tires in excellent condition *Throttlemeister *Corbin seat *Works Performance rear shock *WP front suspension set up for 190 lb rider *heated grips *driving lights *steel braided front brake line *Banke frame brace *aftermarket mount for rear top box *aftermarket "tall" windscreen *Vance & Hines exhaust system *includes FULL S3T luggage - side bags w/ shallow lids (AND liners), also deep lids (AND liners) *stock airguards (for legs) are included - hard to find! *2 extra Buell seats included *Buell factory service manual included *"race kit" style intake included *also included are additional windscreens (Gustafsson and LP screens) *original fairing storage bags (as well as underseat storage bags) are there, and in great condition) *XB rocker box conversion *Updated rear motor mounts *NO base gasket leaks *updated front brake rotor (recall performed) *carbon rear fender *fuel tank mount recall performed *fuel tank vent recall performed *sidestand switch bypass *Ferro-Spiral race wires *new intake seals *exhaust studs are intact, and in excellent condition *intact (stock) front muffler mount *NO rocker box leaks *front upper motor mount bolts are intact and tight *original shifter ASKING $5250. LINKS TO LARGER PICS ARE LOCATED BELOW THESE THUMBNAILS. WILL CONSIDER TRADES INVOLVING VERTICAL MILLS (MANUAL OR CNC), LATHES, TIG WELDER, ETC. Dawg, what planet are you from? I can get the same bike, in the same color, two years younger, and with 1o1 horsepower, for $2,000. I offered $1,850.00. If you want to sell, better get in touch with reality! http://ventura.craigslist.org/mcy/1671136114.html |

Bernard, Dawg, go buy the bike off of craigslist then. This bike has clearly been well taken care of and is worth what someone will pay for it. If its not your price then move on. |

Bernard, I'm not sure how you do things over in San Buenaventura, but here on this site we don't act like quite such a huge arsehole. Your post count reflects the type of stock you have vested into our favorite brand of motorcycle..... BTW, I happen to HATE when people say DAWG in a formal setting. And then you offer pennies on the dollar for a bike that is clearly worth more than what you have in your puppy pound penny bank. Bruppubuppprupppabrupppapoppp!!!! Good luck with the sale! Bump for a great bike! (Message edited by malott442 on April 08, 2010) |

Bernard, I'm not sure the owner's price is "right" but I do know your offer is ridiculous. Why not just ask him to give you the bike? In any case it's his bike, so; his price. BTW BMONNIG, it's nice to see a tuber with an aftermarket shock already on it...that alone should help you get a good deal from anyone who actually knows what they're looking at...like $600-$700 upgrade right there and unlike most mods it's a pretty important one for a tuber. |

Actually, after looking at everything that comes with it $4950 isn't a bad deal at all. Wish I wasn't broke or I would send a pm. |

I am sorry if my post came over as disrespectful. That wasn't my intention. I tried to offer in a funny-kind-of-way the advice that if somebody truly wants to sell his bike, a market oriented pricing may be the way too go. I agree with the statement that a bike is worth what anybody is willing to pay for it. In my observation an S3 or S3T in good condition is nowadays a bike that will sell between $2,000 and $2,950, with exceptions in either direction. I fail to see the point to list an S3 for $5K, or a 1996 Chrysler minivan for $10K, or a 1972 Volkswagen Beetle for $25K. But that's just me. Best of luck to anybody trying to get twice the market value for anything, real estate included. |

I disagree with Bernard. You sell the bike for what you want and hold out until the market changes or you find that person who shares your opinion about the value of your bike. |

Comparing an s3t to a chrysler minivan is ridiculous. Go use a suzuki boulevard or honda shadow for a chopper. Leave the classics alone. (Message edited by malott442 on April 09, 2010) |

Yes on the surface 5k seems steep, you could buy a stocker for around 3k. Then you would want saddle bags and liners (Both styles), and rack, and suspension, and seats. When you factor the extras and upgrades 5k seems pretty damn fair. Lets not confuse "Wanting" to sell with "Needing" to sell. |

I see where he said "Need to sell", so lets not confuse Needing to sell with "Desperate to sell". Thats better. Just a thought, sell the stocker and part out all the goodies. I want Banke frame brace, I also want extra bag liners. I'm sure you have a thousand dollars in stuff after you put the clean stock S3T back on the market. That said, I have a 99S3T and if I had another 5k laying about I'd have a sistership. Good Luck |

Bump for price drop! $4550. I may just part the bike out after all. My train of thought is that the "color matched" stuff (lids, air deflectors, etc) would be best served by going with this bike, but maybe that line of thinking is incorrect. I don't have to sell, but I'd like to take the money from the bike and apply it towards some equipment. I'll consider all offers. If you're interested in the bike -without- some of the goodies, PM or e-mail me an offer, and we can go from there.} (Message edited by bmonnig on April 22, 2010) |

B- I know this sounds like blasphemy but when I sold my S3 I wasn't geting much response on the bike but a lot on the extras. I took off all the extras and sold them then dropped the price of the bike and sold it too. Good luck, if I was looking for a classic I'd definitely give you a call. |

bmonnig; I have an S3T that's a keeper, with both narrow and wide lids but no liners, and I'd be interested in the bag liners (if you decide to go that route..) just email me at desmoduck@aol.com. Thanks! |
