Hello, I have a spare parts motor. The flywheel shaft is broken off on the primary side. Motor has Approx 3000 miles on it. You would only need a flywheel/Rotor/Stator/Chain to make it run! I can ship truck freight for $150-$200 depending on location. $500.00 takes it

Hey Polkiejoe. Is this a common issue on some of the later model XB's. I have an 06 XBR that had the shaft spun and chewed up on that I am rebuilding. It seemed very odd and no real explanation for it! |

It is interesting that that happened to you also?? I bought the bike with the motor like this and just bought a new motor for it. The previous owner said it just happened all of the sudden like that? He said he called Buell to ask if they have ever had problems like this or could help with having it fixed...but they said they have not heard of it happening...hmmmmm? |

One of the guys on the forum (I think in France) said that he and a few others had this happen on post 05 and later models. About four of them! Did this one break completely or just rub the shaft smooth? Funny thing on mine is that the stator cover is still fine! Put a different crank pinion on the stator cover and it locked like nothing had happened! I'm thinking they used a cheaper steel or something? |

It completely snapped off! The stator was torn up and ripped a hole in the primary cover! |

Buell revised the torque spec on that bolt on the 07's to prevent that from happening. |

Yeah it makes no sense at all for them to deny this happening. This was a very low mile bike also! |

it's my second bike so I've been riding so I'm not to pissed and i bwt a motor of this site and in the process of replacing it this week but times are hard and big business needs to quit screwing the little guy. I'd hate to be a part of class action law suit, cause i'd never do nothing to defame Erick but DAM. |

Hey Froggy! Which bolt would that be and do you know what they revised it to and if any others were changed as well? I want to put it back together right and not have the same thing happen 2K miles from now! |

Read this: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/481580.html?1249646306 For what its worth, it is an uncommon problem. My 06 still has the old spec and is at 41k miles with no issue. I plan on doing the retorque to update it next time I got the primary cover off. |

I'm thinking this is what happened to my 06 Uly just this morning in Idaho, I'll know for sure when I get it back to Fallon, Nevada in a couple weeks, on the trailer.....grrrrrr. Did you loose all oil pressure and power all of a sudden? Did it sound like nuts and bolts shaking in a tin can? Mine did......grrrr. |

Would you consider just selling me the heads and rocker box covers to use on my tuber? Any damage to them? Thanks. |

How much to ship to Reno, Nevada? I'm thinking I need a rebuildable motor since my 06 Uly just crapped the bed this weekend. |

Bummer! All being said, new inner bearing and seal, trued and balanced crank and a gasket kit if there is no other internal damage and you are good to go! If you are capable of rebuilding it yourself, this is short change compared to brand new. Hope you pick it up Vwsinner! |

Vw, If you pick up the motor you may have an extra set of heads and covers to sell anyway and I'm looking for a set. Would help to off set the price of the motor. |

Still waiting to assess damage on my motor. I still have to go to Idaho to pick it up, next weekend. The wait is freaking killing me! I'm dying to get back on the Uly... |
